“2 a.m. on a Tuesday?” she says, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “Even for you, that’s late.”

screwfears ( BELLAMY. )
GUIDE YOU HOME.
Sleep was a rare treasure. Bellamy didn’t slay his demons any longer at day but allowed them to do it to him instead. This way was the best to carry the burden of all the deaths he caused from the moment he made his first step on the ground.
He was busy because the camp was growing and his decisions needed. Bellamy prefered to stay with his people, to give the knowledge of the ground to the people.
It felt good to do something right and he liked to spend the nights by the guards, in silence. One night of many and he was tired but today his mind tricked him badly. But he always would regnorize her, no matter if she tried to hide her face or not.
Bellamy fought himself down and to the gate. If this was another ghost who haunted him – but he wanted this to be real. She stopped in front of him and his breath stopped for a long moment.
Then finally the lips formed into a tired but happy smile. He allowed the good feelings to fill any inch of him.
“I see – what the hell took you so long?”
He didn’t notice her injury yet and instead pulled her into a tight hug, holding her close like she was really just a ghost and would disappear otherwise.
Muscles tightened and fists clenched at the sudden, unexpected contact. Clarke had interacted with few since her departure, but none to the point of physical closeness--none that were as warm as Bellamy. She should’ve remembered that heat sort of seemed to radiate naturally off of him. He was like a human furnace. Clarke felt herself relax into his embrace once the shock wore off, and she wrapped her arms around his middle in return. The grand, running-and-leaping into his arms didn’t happen the way it did the first time they hugged. This one was quieter, more raw, and it tugged at Clarke’s belly, causing her eyes to cloud over with tears. She’d expected him to be angry, to be cold, to be something other than the forgiver, the compassionate man that he’d grown into. She pulled away reluctantly, sniffling and batting quickly at the lone tear that escaped from the corner of her eye. “I know--I--” she began, nostrils flaring. “I had to take care of some things. Couldn’t risk having loose ends... not with the winter so close. I think--I think I’m okay now, though. Ready to help.”
GUIDE YOU HOME.
It’s the dead of night when she returns with blood dribbling down her face. The limp in her step--caused by an unseen rock on the path to the camp--slows her down. Before the injury, she’d been running.
There’s an impressive brigade of guards outlining the camp’s newly enforced walls as she approaches. They turn their guns to face her in unison, and her heart begins to thud in her chest. Maybe she’s not welcome anymore. Foggy blue eyes scan the attentive soldiers and come to a screeching halt as she catches a set of dark brown eyes, staring at her widely with disbelief. If she thought her heart was pounding before, it was NOTHING compared to the hammering she felt now, staring at him, looking at him for the first time in six months. She held up her hands in surrender, eyes remaining determinedly on his. Clearing her throat, she swallows down any remainder of nervousness and straightens her spine. “I’m not a threat,” she yells to the men, to him. She removes the hood from her cape, letting her blond waves hang freely on her shoulders. It’s shorter now, but it’s enough to cause the men to shout her name, and to open the gates for her immediately. She finds her way inside slowly, her left foot still dragging behind. He is easily found in the crowd and she surges toward him, ignoring the pain. She’s unsure of herself, of him, when she approaches. There’s something in the air that makes her uncomfortable, an alien feeling that this place isn’t her home. She’s not welcome. She abandoned them. “...hi,” she says quietly, almost inaudible. She can’t look at him when she’s standing this close, so her eyes search the moonlit ground.
“I’m back.”

“WHOA--” Clarke’s eyes widen at the sight of her arm. The wound is gaping, though not terribly deep. It leaks blood like a busted pipe, and Clarke rushes to Cass’ side to grip onto it.
“This needs to be tended to. Now.”

“LOOK -- I know you probably want to yell at me. Or drill me, or maybe even hit me a few times. Which is all well deserved but--” Clarke looks nervously from Raven to the ground and back again, unsure of where her eyes can stay in order to refrain from any crying. “Can it wait until tomorrow?”

“You guys built cabins?” she asks, undeniably impressed. “How did you manage that without a med--” she almost says a medic, but then she remembers. Abby is around, she probably took care of them better than Clarke could’ve. They were just fine without her. Maybe even better.
❛ – … we’re healing. we’re SURVIVING. i wouldn’t call it much more than that. we didn’t have a CHOICE. ❜
he SEEKS the eye contact she blatantly AVOIDS only to cease at the realization that it isn’t what she NEEDS.
❛ it’s good to see you again, clarke. ❜
She almost smiles at his words, but thinks better of it. Part of her doesn’t even know how she’s gotten this far, how she made it all the way to the camp without turning back around to the comfort of solitude. “I take it no one acquired any life-threatening wounds while I was gone?” she asks casually, quietly, as she looks around.
