Examine! Dogs

It’s Caleb’s dogs! There’s a handful of golden retrievers - Ralph, Murdoch and Farquaad Farquharson - and a single husky puppy - Iggy. They’re adorable.

「 Leave. 」「 ► Pet. 」

The latter of these nips at your feet, yipping playfully. You can’t help but smile a bit and kneel down, scritching his ears.

Examine! Purple Bread

It's a loaf of bread. It's dissimilar from any other ordinary loaf of bread, aside from its odd, deep violet hue and somewhat narrow shape. It also smells strange and unpleasant, faintly of fish among... other things.

After staring at it for a while, you decide to leave it alone.

Examine! Rats

「 Ahiko ► Examine! Rats. 」

It's a dead rat, a fairly common sight on pirate ships like this. Well, more specifically, it's your cat, Scuttlebutt—a polydactyl tuxedo with a lovely sleek coat, proudly carrying not one, but two dead rats in her mouth. You wrinkle your nose a little; a mangled rodent wasn't a pretty sight by any means, but on the other hand, you've seen worse, and for every less living rat there's one less issue with a chewed-up floorboard, crate or barrel.

After overcoming your initial disgust, you pat the top of her head with a clawed hand. "Good girl, Scuttle, good kitty. You're doing an excellent job." She chirps, nuzzling into your palm before slinking off elsewhere in search of more prey.

「 Ethan ► Examine! Rats. 」

It's a dead rat- no, two dead rats. Probably. You flinch a little and take a ginger step backward in a mix of fear and disgust. Not exactly the most welcome thing to stumble upon while cleaning your attic, lying among piles of woolen Bay blankets, dusty photographs and jammed-up rifles.

Well, at least, you think it's a rat. You haven't seen one in years, so you could be wrong, but you're pretty certain as far as you can tell—and you have no idea how it could have gotten here of all places. You're more than a little terrified of their tiny, sharp claws and gross massive teeth that can chew through practically anything in enough time, and—

OH GOD IT JUST MOVED GROSS KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE

Examine! Cowboye

「 Ethan ► Examine! Cowboye. 」

It's Caleb, your foremost rival, resident pain in your ass, and—unfortunately—also your neighbour. He's a loud, obnoxious, heavily suntanned (well, more like sunburned, really) white guy with a scruffy blond mullet, mostly a tangle of scrawny freckled limbs and overpriced western wear. As always, he's wearing his signature white Smithbilt hat, along with an unflattering flannel jacket, leather cowboy boots and a stupid, shit-eating grin.

You've maintained a nationally infamous and fairly long—by the standards of your relatively short lifetime of around two centuries and several decades, at least—rivalry with him, mostly consisting of petty brawling and bickering over everything from trains to universities to sports teams. It's almost irritatingly nostalgic to think about, in a weird kind of way.

Of course, he wouldn't be disturbing your peace in the first place if you hadn't begrudgingly agreed to let his drunken ass crash at your place the night prior, you note bitterly. It's not like you enjoy his company or anything, after all. Even a little. That'd be ridiculous.

Send “Examine!” and an item or person and I’ll write an RPG description of it/them.

Kithral uses a silver amulet with a pendant carved with his deity’s holy symbol. Since his role as a paladin is more combat-oriented than your average cleric, it’s more practical to have something you can wear around your neck than hold in your hand.

Cynthos uses a green crystal made of bowenite serpentine, carved to look like a slitted eye and tied around his neck with twine in a makeshift necklace.

Danior’s is a staff made of hawthorn, stained black, decorated with bone and tipped with an animal skull. The bottom end is sharpened, so it can also serve as a stake in a pinch.

Flor doesn’t use an arcane focus, as a matter of principle. They like their component pouch, thank you very much, and will accept no substitutes--would you rather shoot lightning and fireballs from your hands or with some glorified dingy wooden stick? Take your orbs and your staffs and your wands and shove 'em up your arse.

its funny how when your friends are all in the same little niche of fandom (in this case, statetalia), to see how your differently tag things, especially when its not original content

for instance, @macarici just uses the “aph (state name here)” tag (example: “aph washington”) and that appears to be her way of tagging things for her ocs

@crikadelic uses “aph (charrie’s name here)” for her tags (examples: “aph sam” and “aph june”)

I use “oc (name here)” for my tags (examples: “oc beverly” and “oc elijah”)

and then @bottot, blessed bottot…

He does believe in luck! Although he’s nowhere near as superstitious as he used to be, he sometimes believes that certain phenomenon/objects/etc might attract fortune (or misfortune), and has a habit of keeping a pierre de fée on him as a good luck charm. 

Fate, not so much–as someone who felt oppressed and used as a pawn throughout a fair portion of his history, the idea of being in control of his own future has far more appeal to him than predestination tbh.

⚯ : Does your muse have good eyesight? If not, what is it like? Are they nearsighted or farsighted? Or both? Do they use glasses? Or do they prefer contacts?

He has pretty good vision without any need for glasses, contacts or other visual aids. god i wish that were me.

He doesn’t wear glasses, but if he did, fancy af blue designer ones.

♨ : Does your muse have good table manners? How do they feel about bad table manners?

They’re pretty average. If he’s somewhere where it calls for it (a nice restaurant, government function, visiting someone he’s not really close to, etc.) he’s going to put in the effort, but otherwise he’s probably not going to care as much.

As for other’s table manners, as long as they aren’t spoiling his appetite (like chewing loudly or with their mouth open etc.) he’s probably more inclined to let it slide.

as a side note note: voyageurs were apparently known for having fuckawful manners, so he CAN lapse back into that if he really wants to annoy somebody
