I am Elkko, a proud Skarr from the Lowlands!

This one is not always affiliated with the rest of my kind, due to differrences-private, but is much friendlierr! Am always willing to do a “prrotection” contract with some lost pilgrrims. Nice ones get discounts!

Also love shinies. Like to look prretty with the shinies. Stands out frrom the bone. Will do a lot for shinies.

Also, Elkko can be a warrior-for-hirre. Have enough rrosaries, and you will get brave, strong, Skarr warriorr.

Elkko has rright to burrrow away and forrfeit half-pay.

According to Bugoogle, they are a ssssort of creature that, much like I, has antlersss-sss. I have never ssseen one in real life before, but they look very ssstrange. Nothing like a bug at all, if it is-sss one in the firssst place-

I would say sirr-Styx, that of all the rreindeer I have hearrd about and have yet to hunt, you seem like the one with the most beautiful, exquisite rrack of antlers. Not that Elkko would ever hunt you but they are beautiful nonetheless.

Absolutely not. I appreciate thine politeness, Skarr, but what lies within this Organ belongs wholly to mineself. Even if thou wouldst provide me a fraction of thine findings, thou would still be stealing from me.

I quite like thine attitude, however. Perhaps, for my own enjoyment, I may join thee on a future thieving expedition—if thou wouldst allow it.

(Elkko crouches in a green bush in Far Fields, observing a herd of Hardbone Hoppers. They have nearly gotten close enough to ambush in their grazing. The ants antenna could smell their distinctive scent, goading him to strike early and now. But he remained, for his goal was not eat one, and thus special care would be needed.

One hopper moves closer to the bush, eyes searchin, head on a swivel. This hopper may brave, but it is not stupid. It smells something just off in the air. Not an immaculate threat, but one of looming presence.

(Suddenly, the Skarr leaps up from his hiding spot, twirling a self-spun rope. It ends with a hoop, a hoop that is quickly chucked over the brave hopper’s neck. The lasso is quickly pulled tighter, so that his prey does not escape)

The brave Hopper shrieks and attempts to pull back, but meets resistance from the lasso. The panicked movements and cries alert the rest of the herd, who quickly gallop away as fast as their hooves can carry them.

Eventually the Skarr is able to avoid the kicks and head bashes, and get to it’s side.

(seeing his chance, Elkko throws himself on the back of the Brave Hopper, to much discontent, and the creature attempts to buck him off, moving jauntily and desperately, as the Skarr yells and attempts to chitter comforting words to the beast.)

It feels so slow, to buck and kick for seemingly hours in the span of minutes to get the predator off its back. It’s kind had never hunted this way.

they had always preferred their bone-spear and sickles, only the largest coming with their hands. But the longer the Skarr remained, the more the brave hopper was confused. Why wasn’t it dead? Did it… not want to kill him?

(Seeing the brave hopper calm down, the Skarr loudened his soft whispers, loosing his grip at little to stroke the shell of it, attempting to comfort the creature.)

A… friend? How? What? The predator wasn’t going to eat it, that was for sure. The Brave hopper stopped its already half hearted attempts to throw off its rider, waiting to see what would happen.

The Skarr nudged its sides with his heels, guiding it in a certain direction.

after some trials and tribulations, they figured out how turn agreeably, slow and speed up, and when to jump or fake out.

Ooc: (Elkko has gained the first stage of loyalty with this mount! It will now trust him!)

(Having figured out the motions, the pair return to the camp, where Elkko attempts to fit a saddle onto the Hopper before eventually succeeding. The bridle and bit are dropped, so the rope for the tack will be attached to the saddle.)

(Elkko did not know, but the beast would not flee him unless a serious threat emerged.)

(He nervously stumbles to the edge of the property, not wishing to activate the traps again. So he, out in the open, sets down two white items made of silk)

“I wish forr peace,” he calls, “Something to give to the child-young I scarrred.”

(On closer inspection, it appears that the white objects are two pure silk plushies, one a teddy bear, the other in a shape of what could only be the hydrogen bomb Tsar Bomba.)

(Elkko nervously looks around for any response, and then begins to turn, having made his offering.)
