NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 28: Alexander Skarsgård and Jack McBrayer attend Apple TV+'s "Murderbot" premiere at Regal Union Square on April 28, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images)
Jack McBrayer was asked by Steven Weintraub (Collider) how it was working with his BFF Alexander Skarsgård on Murderbot. Jack was the “special surprise guest” at the screening. Show runners Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz were also there (and Alex says off camera, “I'm wearing your underwear right now!”)”

Repost from Collider (shared June 10, 2025)
Last week we partnered with AppleTV for a midseason showing of Murderbot, starring Emmy Award winner Alexander Skarsgård 🎉
Thank you to everyone who came along to the The Culver Theater in L.A. to watch Episodes 4 and 5 on the big screen. We followed up with an exclusive Q&A from Steven Weintraub with creators Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz and Skarsgård himself 💚
ETA - the full 36-minute Q&A video has been released on their website. Watch it here: https://collider.com/murderbot-alexander-skarsgard-jack-mcbrayer-creators-paul-weitz-chris-weitz/
the video has been uploaded to YouTube as well
Murderbot's Alexander Skarsgård, Jack McBrayer & Creators Paul & Chris Weitz Discuss AppleTV+ Series
As someone that got to attend this event with my good friend @characteristicallyaskars, it was truly a fabulous evening! Thank you for having us!
You can tell when Alexander Skarsgård is having the time of his life shooting some scenes, and this is one of them from Apple TV+'s ‘Murderbot.’ It’s also proof after he told Collider at their private screening a couple of weeks ago:
Steven Weintraub (Collider): So, you all see the shooting schedule. What day do you have circled in terms of, “I can't wait to film this,” and what day is circled in terms of, “How the F are we going to film this?”
PAUL WEITZ: Alexander, can't wait is like the nude scenes?
SKARSGÅRD: [Laughs] Yeah. Just technically, how do we make this work? No. The Sanctuary Moon stuff was incredible because it was also so tonally different from the rest of the show. Also, playing a character who's so restrained, it was fun to, for one day, go really big and silly. Because again, in Episode 4, when Murderbot is hallucinating that it's on the show, it was an opportunity to do something that's kind of uncharacteristic, and that was a lot of fun. And obviously, working with Jack [McBrayer] and having that moment was incredibly fun.
Alex’s wig was from hair stylist Natalie Nelson. (@hairbynatalienelson) In an article with Awards Radar, the look was as “Outer Space Elvis."

Check out Alexander Skarsgård is in this week’s @Variety!
The Variety issue dated September 20, 2017 has 4 separate photos of Alex for pre-Emmy (Variety Women in Film Pre-Emmy Celebration) and post Emmy parties (HBO’s and Governors Ball) after his big win Sunday night for OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A LIMITED SERIES/TV MOVIE for BIG LITTLE LIES.
He even got a grade of “A-” on the WWD Report Card thanks to the styling of Jeanne Yang for his Ermenegildo Zegna Couture tuxedo, Cartier lapel pin and Christian Louboutin shoes. He was groomed by Kim Verbeck.
They said, ‘He pulls off the evening wear look effortlessly. Three-piece tuxedos are hard to wear but his slender 6-foot-4 physique makes the look work. And the suit’s fitted silhouette only helps. The hint of white pocket square, the jeweled lapel and gold watch add the right luxe touch.’
It also says that ‘Alexander Skarsgård reunited with TRUE BLOOD castmates Rutina Wesley and Adina Porter, and made the rounds through the crowd with Jack McBrayer, whom he jokingly called his “husband” as he toted his statuette.’
There are also HBO and CAA congratulatory ads that lists all of their Emmy winners (Alex), but I will be posting them in a different post. (see THR post)
