Imagine having a hate crime committed against you when you're seventeen years old, it gets photographed and posted online, and eight years later people are calling YOU (an Asian-Canadian man) racist because of it. And yes, someone drawing a swastika on the face of a person of color is a hate crime. Even if he is still friends with the people who did it (I don't know if he is). Forgiveness doesn't make him the perpetrator or a racist, holy shit
"He must have known what they drew on his face" - He was drunk
"He should have wiped it off" - It's sharpie
"I would NEVER hang out with people who do this" - You don't know what people will do to you until they do it
