I watched I Saw The TV Glow for the first time last night and I kid you not I sobbed for an hour. It made me rethink every single thing I was doing in my life. It’s dethroned Nimona as my favorite movie. Jane Schoenbrun is going to get my firstborn child for making this.

I just watched Leviticus (SPOILERSSS BTW ) and I’m kinda pissed at the ending. TLDR: it just felt unfinished.

It felt like there was 20 minutes missing. Everything went to shit, Naim burned down the mill, and then they ran. They’re still haunted. Theyre just being haunted in Sydney or wherever the fuck. It’s disappointing. It was ALMOST a lesson in “running away doesn’t solve your problems, you’re still haunted by them until you confront them.” There is a way to make that work. Show a bit where they’re ALLOWED to be themselves without fear. 30 seconds of bus cuddling doesn’t count. They’re still scared. They still can’t trust each other fully. They still will think the other is a demon sometimes.

It was good in a symbolic sense but symbolism can’t carry a movie. It can have as much symbolism as you want but if the story sucks, it’s a bad movie. The story was really good, the concept and 95% of the movie was incredible, but he didn’t actually END THE MOVIE.

I don’t think I would care about the ending if it wasn’t ALMOST good. I can see why he made those decisions. On paper it was a good ending. In practice he fumbled.

Saw 1 had the ending I think Adrian Chiarella wanted. The villain is still there, the protags technically escape, and the story isn’t over. The Leviticus ending was TOO open and that made it feel empty, vs Saw ended the story somewhat while keeping it open (Gordon got out to get cops, Adam is still alive, Jigsaw is still out there)

I’m still on my Leviticus bullshit bc it was an incredible movie. I saw an Instagram post asking for 3 word reviews and elaboration. (very strong language btw I’m livid)

It pissed me the FUCK off. The first one was “severely turned on” and “boy did I love that— give me more” did you watch the fucking movie with your eyes closed and dick out. NOTHING about that movie should turn you on. The next one is “silly gay boys” FUCK YOU. GENUINELY FUCK YOU. THIS IS NOT A SILLY MOVIE. These are NOT silly gay boys. They are gay men who are victims of hate crimes. “Love the freaky gay demon movie” “I liked when the boys kissed #yaoi” “that was so yaoiful” “literally us except straight couple” “gooned on bus” “really thought the sister was about to fujoshi out #disappointed” “#clavicular #claviticus # hornybutscared #terrifiedbuthot #computahmaketheseguyssupergayandhorny” this is not the time or the place. Leave your stupid unserious internet jokes for stupid unserious movies. This is NOT yaoi. You should NOT be horny. You should be sad, and scared, and angry.

This movie is talking about serious topics that actually happen (to an extent). People get bullied, kicked out, beat, MURDERED for being gay. People would rather their children be dead than gay. People would rather themselves be dead than gay. 28/200ish countries have banned conversion therapy. 13 of those have an outright ban, while the other 15 have laws that only technically or partially ban it.

If you want to watch a horny movie watch porn. Don’t watch the movie about men almost getting murdered because they’re gay. Go jerk off to 50 shades of gray. Go watch sasaki to Miyano if you want silly gay boys. Get your fucking priorities straight and watch movies with your brain and not your dick.

Part 1: My dream bestie’s parents owned a Michaels craft store and we (me, her, her parents) were all there at like 9pm for some reason and for whatever reason I told them I had a thing for dream bestie (who happened to have the same name as the bestie I had a crush on like 5 years ago) and they got pissed so we fucking RAN. I think we stole their car too. Part 2: we’re in Italy. Why? Could not tell you. Her dad tracked us down and was hunting us. Also a guy who joined my dnd party recently was there and we were besties? Not far from the truth he’s pretty cool irl. He asked why my legs had so many random scars (also true irl my legs are funky lookin) and I was explaining them and then dream besties dad (I think he looked like Giulia’s dad from Luca) came in so we ran again and then I woke up. Im missing like half the plot but I simply don’t remember it and I’m sad

One thing I really like about him is that he’s Thai and darker skinned. In a lot of anime, characters tend to get whitewashed no matter where they’re from (Usopp, takahashi from saiki k, I know there’s more I just cannot think of any) but he notably has darker skin. Idk I just think it’s cool that they did that

RIP Dante Quintana you would’ve loved Conan Gray, her’s, and Arctic Monkeys.

I’m trying to think of any modern artist Ari would like and I got nothing. The only ones I can think of are Kendrick and Arctic Monkeys but even then I don’t think he’s a rap guy and the vibes are off for Arctic monkeys. Dante is a genre hopper (same) but Ari is very much a rock guy. Like Aerosmith, Los Lobos, maybeee Radiohead, that area. Idk what specific subgenre it is but you get it. Blues rock? More guitar heavy stuff. Arctic monkeys has too much drums, while Aerosmith has more guitar. I feel like he wouldn’t hate Arctic monkeys and that’s something him and Dante would agree on, but not something he’d go out of his way to listen to. I think they’d both like Queen tho.

I know there’s a record they listen to in the first book when they’re cleaning Dante’s room and I can picture the entire scene EXCEPT for the band. I also can’t fully remember if he likes Los Lobos or he just likes the song from the radio. I just need to get this out into the world before I explode or my bestie blocks me for spamming her with my bullshit (I’m kidding she puts up with them somehow even tho almost none of them are about anything she knows)

I watched Adachi and Shimamura a few days ago and I’m SO conflicted on it but that’s another yap. Overall I liked it but some parts are a little odd to me. One of those parts is how many nude or scantily clad scenes they had of the girls. The shower and bath scenes were SO unnecessary and kind of gross. The inner monologue scenes are a bit better, symbolically and artistically they’re gorgeous but not with 15 year old girls. The show would’ve been so much better if they were in their last year of high school, the “I’ll never see her again” stakes would’ve been higher, the artistic nude scenes would be a bit less gross, and overall the story would be better. Also, it would be interesting if they both vaguely knew of the other for a few years and had their preconceived notions and then skipping in the same place helps break those notions. Or they’re complete strangers for 2 years and learn life lessons or something by meeting in the loft. It’s ALMOST a good show and that’s the annoying part. The bones are good but they made it weird.

In the campaign he was made for, he kept throwing apples at stuff. Including the sludge that eats organic matter and is ruining the ecosystem. He also used mage hand to flip off a horse and promptly got kicked in the balls. Also he’s illiterate. I’m sure that will have no negative consequences and will only be brought up for shits and giggles :D

On the topic of Toven’s illiteracy, I was test running him on a one shot so I could like figure out magic and vibes and stuff before we got really into the campaign he’s for and there happened to be a kenku party member who could only really communicate by writing notes. That was a terrible combo. Also that kenku out strutted me I’m mad at him.
