How are you? Love ur music btw keep it up
I'm well. I recently started teaching music professionally and it's been very demanding of my time. It has been difficult making new music, but I will have more out very soon. I'm glad you like it!! I enjoy your art as well. It's some of my favorite actually.
I spent two days on this, which is much longer than I normally would. Primarily because it was hard af to mix. This is probably one of the least surprising musical conclusions because it fit the image in a way that was… idk, obvious? I think maybe going forward I should try out some less obvious choices. My guitar chops have withered a bit, but at this point I don’t care too much.
@bichcarito‘s retro gal OC inspired this, and I love the color and style so much.

My wife unknowingly chose the art for me to sketch to. We talked about how 3/4 has a very “rolling” effect rhythmically, and it match the landscape, and she said it sounds very adventurous, so overall, I think I did alright. Also, horses remind me of dorian... I know, weird, but also, kind of the correct choice, wouldn’t you say?

This is beautiful. My wife saw me scrolling through some art, and because her reaction was so positive when seeing this, I wrote a sketch to it. Seems like she enjoyed what I came up with.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve done a musical sketch, but I thought I would dust off the cobwebs. I’ve acquired some better tools for my craft, and wanted to try writing a simple orchestration with strings. Not sure how good it is but I think it fits the mooD. Kelogsloops is a brilliant artist, and I literally just full screen the image, loaded up a digital string library, and just vibes, idk..

I LOVE THIS!!!! I made a very rough orchestration to this
My fiance and I made an R&B rendition of “Day Man” from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia!!!! Far from my best work, but the most fun I’ve had in a long time.
I recently played Snipperclips with my sister, and it inspired me to write this kind of style, don’t really have a better name for it, but I am very proud of this
This was a quick one to finish, and I honestly was so close to over-doing it but I decided to keep it simple. Pretty self explanatory, really. I tried to match the tempo with the gif (unsuccessfully), but the lofi hip hop vibe, I think, was spot on

C H I L L C I T Y
Probably the fastest I’ve ever finished of these, and the slowest of the tracks I’ve done in this series. I began by fleshing out a Vince Guaraldi style chord progression on keys. He’s one of my favorite pianists and a musical inspiration to me, and I think channeling his use of harmony was more than suitable for capturing the vibe of a “sad clown”. I added a couple drum loops, and a decent bass line, and I gotta say, I’m pretty proud of the minimal quantizing I’ve done, one of these days, my timing will be tight enough to never quantize again (I hope). Thanks to Audrey-Laine Nalley for the inspiration for this musical sketch.

It is done!!!! I mixed the crap outta this for hours and still couldn’t get the lead guitar to sit well, but I think it still turned out okay. Y’all know how this works. Below this post is the reblogged divine masterpiece that inspired this VERY sugary sweet yet savory interpretation you hear now. I pulled out a lot of techniques from my works in 2010-2011 and added an almost annoyingly buttery synth-pop aesthetic. And of course to top it off, the summer sounds of all too accessible rhythm guitars. Not sure why I’m insulting myself, this was a lot of fun to do, and I’m proud, actually.
I think I did pretty well capturing the sound of these images. What do you think?

It’s been a very long LONG time since I’ve had the time or energy to devote to doing these sketch tracks to illustration. BUT I’m back in bidness, and this wonderful collection of works has brought me back from the dead!!!!
This VERY difficult sketch was written in a very interesting guitar tuning with my new acoustic parlor guitar. The tuning is CGCGAE, and it helped me create pivoting harmonies relative to the root. In this case, C represents The girl in this illustration, and the harmonies represent how she may perceive her surroundings, which is meant to be somewhat ambiguous. Hopefully this adequately captures the mood of this piece.
