terrawrought replied to your post âThey're getting closer to Luke's group's last known location, that...â
 this is fine. I'm fine.
luke: bro... isaac: bro... luke: bro... isaac: bro...
They're getting closer to Luke's group's last known location, that truth weighing on Isaac more than he ever expected it to. His hand grips Luke's shoulder as he takes a seat beside the other. "We get near enough to where your people should be, I'm gonna bow out. No need to make it a thing." It's the best option for them both. Lukas'll be home with his own and Isaac will keep searching for his lost men. Even having survived this long together, they have to part some time, right?
immediately, he appears discouraged. thereâs no hiding the distaste for this suggestion, itâs written all over his face.  â you canât just go. â heâd like to think isaac and himself are on the same page when it comes to emotions they like to keep to themselves and ones they will willingly share. the list to share is significantly shorter than the ones to harbor. this is precisely why he hates this so much. isaac is going to do this, heâs going to push him up in the proverbial corner -- heâs going to make him voice how he feels. if lukas cares enough, of course heâs going to try to keep him close, not let them part ways. not permanently, anyway.
hands raise, aid him in his speech,  â -- weâve got to find your people, too. â good. for a minute there, he was scared he was going to have to go down the sentimental road ( the one where he admits to actually liking isaacâs company ), but... that is a good excuse to stick together.  â look, depending on whoâs there-- am i even going to want to stay? â if scarecrow is there, well... that creates unfinished business. heâll have to get rid of him, free whoever is left. -- if willow is alive? all right, heâs not getting his hopes up for that. for now, heâll continue with the same mentality heâs had since shit happened in the first place: sheâs gone.Â
â you helped me-- let me help you. â
*Â unknownâ .
He doesnât flinch. Isaacâs been here before under much harsher conditions â if there could ever be such a thing, given the state of the world. But it doesnât alter the case. Trained in the art of war, he is prepared for almost anything. Cutting him down to size with a mere flicker of her hardened gaze, Isaacâs jaw clenches when the blade opens near the very corner of his eye. Fixing the leader with a stare that speaks to his resilience, he gives her a stiff nod, acknowledging that he understands. As the restraints fall away, Isaac soothingly rubs away the burns on his wrists, gaze still trained on her.      â   Fine. Can I stand without one of your boys puttinâ a bullet in me orâŚÂ   â     It doesnât bode well for him that innate smart-assery is the first thing to tumble from his lips, but he almost canât help himself. In favor of not dying just yet, he remains seated, peering up at her â and only her â so as to get his point across.      â   Thereâs a small group of other military types. Marines. Fancy themselves cleaners of sorts; like theyâre trying to cleanse the world of all the undead. Theyâve stockpiled quite a bit of hardware at their base.   â
thereâs a likeness about him, like theyâve got some kind of common ground.  most of that probably comes in the form of being part of the government and their discipline. can i stand without one of your boys puttinâ a bullet in me or... lips purse in thought, body leaning back a bit as hands come to fold in front of her, below her stomach. she watches him, studies ; the guns of her men follow every rise and fall of his chest when he breathes, though they do seem to ease up a bit when she cocks her head to the side, nods. some kind of signal to get them to back off. he can show her as much attention, as much respect as he wants, but actions speak louder than words here. always.  â oh, you can stand. just donât go too quick. â he wants to be a smart-ass, she can deal it right back. Â
-- a small group of  other military types. marines--  nadine laughs, head turning off to the side ; he knows her history, he must -- he isnât ignorant, and he can see the way she carries herself.  â -- and whatâs the cost? â the military just helping? thereâs got to be a catch. â am i going to owe my blood, sweat, and tears -- or am i going to just wish i was dead? â
