Still thinking about the Yijin who held Heedo when she cried and saw that behind every one of her mother’s successes was Heedo’s pain. The Heedo who was able to see past her own hurt to finally understand her mother and forgive her.

I just can’t reconcile these characters to the ones I saw in episodes 15/16. We watched the same story unfold again, but without any of the character growth and insight that had been earned. Narratively, it made sense for these characters to make different, better choices when faced with similar circumstances, and I just can’t be convinced that parting was the better choice when I remember the Yijin who said Heedo always led him to the right place, the Heedo who heard Yijin’s love confession and felt she had found all the missing pieces in her life and could overcome any difficulty.

I just—UGH. Every time I think I’m over this, it slaps me in the face again.

Look I also want to point out that Yijin doesn’t just go with the typical 사랑해 (I love you) but he says 난 널 사랑하고 있어, 나희도 which is more like “I am (currently/ in the middle of) loving you, Na Heedo,” and that just makes it like ten thousand times better.
