I made this video several nights ago for a presentation with my mom at Columbia River High School, home of the Chieftains.
The class we presented to is an art class currently focusing on the idea of "identity".
My mom and I were asked to discuss our identity with a Native American focus.
I wanted to make a video to start the presentation with, at first just to give context to who Natives are today.
After I finished putting it together I realized how much this video became my own art project on my own identity.
So enjoy this quickly thrown together, adhd, half video art, half documentary piece.
Enjoy the dances, music, and powerful words from Indian Country.
Enjoy my perspective.
lim~limt - thank you
>>>>>The opening monologue is John Trudell (r.i.p.) from the documentary Reel Injun.
The song after that is a coastal blessing song from the Grande Ronde people.
The next song is from music duo A Tribe Called Red, "PBC" ft. Sheldon sundown
After, is a transition from a men's fancy dance special at Gathering of Nations to a song made by my boyfriend and friend, "Pace".
All video is filmed by me.<<<<<
