Mural Monday | Kris Chau (LA)

Here’s some photos from a magical creationl by Los Angeles based artist Kris Chau at Academic Coffee, a community coffee shop in San Jose, CA.  This painted panel piece features owls, plant life, women on bikes and cosmic creatures in some nice cooling color tones.  Chau’s approach to murals is fluid and organic as well as a tool for her to make her visual language work in a large scale way:   “I freehand everything too, no projectors … “ states Chau, “ All the murals and big thangs I’ve painted forced my visual language … [to] read well large scale.”  Find out more about Kris Chau in our upcoming June Sketchy Behavior interview!!
