Hey not really an ask but I just want to say as someone who has followed you blog since late 2016/early 2017 I just want to say that you've come a long way and are doing great, keep up the good work! :)
Thank you so much! I’ll make sure to tell Dillon too since he no longer runs the tumblr, but honestly both me hearing that (been on here since 2018) and for him I’m sure, this is heartwarming <3
So I've seen a couple peeps ask about classpect. Can I send an ask related to mine? If you don't want to it's fine.
Ask away! (even off-Anon is fine ;))
I’m curious as to what an heir of life could do?
Funnily enough I Classpected a friend as that once, so I have it saved already. Also I guess we’re a Classpecting blog now. I am okay with this. Oh would you look at the time? It’s SKRUB o’clock already! Join our Discord server to engage in fun and rousing SKRUB: The Tabletop Creation Myth related discussions with other fun loving members of our community! https://discord.gg/QNPhvC6 So yeah, Heir of Life (play it in a SKRUB game!): Life is the Aspect of Life itself. It represents Life, Control, Growth, and the various states of being alive. Life players are very lively and usually have some sort of hang up on authority. Meenah Peixes wanted to be empress so she can improve the world she lived in. By adding more murder. When the Thief of Life was unable to do so, she ran away to the moon, Taking Control for Herself by removing herself from others' sphere of authority. Feferi Peixes ALSO wanted to improve her world by DECREASING murder. Good fish. She would also exert her authority on various sea life that she even admits don't need her Care, but she gives it to them anyway. Jane Crocker faces the Maid's initial lack of Aspect (Life) by having many assassination attempts made on her. So I guess Life players have a close relationship with murder. Or well, Death because of course they do. Life players are somewhat meddlesome creatures, but they only want what they perceive to be the best for you, and sometimes that has to do putting Authority in their own hands. The Extended Zodiac also mentions that Life Players can sometimes forget to take care of themselves when they are so busy taking care of others. The passive manipulation class, Heirs are called such because they are fated to Receive their Aspect, they will have quite a large amount of it too! They are perhaps second only to the Page in raw power. As a Manipulator of their Aspect, Heirs can do quite a bit. Where Witches will naturally have lots of energy and Manipulate their Aspect with reckless abandon, Heirs start out with their Aspect acting for them. John Egbert, the Heir of Breath: John is the protagonist of Homestuck and as such his Manipulation of Breath has room in the Meta of Homestuck as well: He is the first tool through which we may channel our Agency as readers. It's a bit hard to separate what aspect of John's character is Breath and what is Heir, so for the time being let's look at something that everyone likes to look at: Bulging horse muscles. Equius Zahhak, the Heir of Void, is a concerning sight to most people. He is sweaty, has broken... Everything, looks at horse pornography (it's called hentai and its art) and is overall known to sulk in the shadows a lot. None of these are particularly Void-y traits other than the Shadows. Mituna Captor... Yeah. Overall it seems Heirs are each quite comfortable in their own skin. John likes his shitty movies, Equius Equiuses, and Mituna has lost his understanding of acceptable social behavior in a terrible Clown Accident. The Heir of Life, one who invites Manipulation of Life or invites Manipulation through Life. The Heir of Life would start off with their Authority and their Life not in their own hands. Perhaps they lack the ability to make decisions on their own, or they are quite sick, but either way the are certainly not happy about it. As they Grow they will have more Control given to them, until they can finally Flourish and become a symbol of Life itself, Using it for the betterment of others around them, and themselves. Heirs of Life would probably be quite happy-go-lucky people, combining the Heir's general sense of comfort with themselves and the Life players liveliness and idealism. What we get is a Happy person with Big Ideas that Isn't Strong Enough To Act On Them, but Will Someday. A fucking Shonen protagonist.
The Curious Races of SKRUB #9
Hello and welcome to the (apparently) 9th installment of The Curious Races of SKRUB, where we explore the wacky creatures that populate paradox space. Can today’s species survive the challenges of SKRUB and make a new universe? That’s up to you and your GP! (Especially if you’re in the Ultimate SKRUB Session, wink wink check out the Discord).
Today: Plants.
for the love of fuck what would a prince of time do/mean
You know what, I am absolutely more than okay with this being a Classpecting blog and maybe dropping one of my numerous Hot Takes that people on the server (https://discord.gg/5BDVVeS) have come to lovingly expect. So long as your Classpects get used for the fun and varied characters that can be made in the unique SKRUB: The Tabletop Creation Myth game system! Let us begin. Time is the Aspect of Rhythm, Music, Repetition, Destruction and Time itself. The Extended Zodiac defines Time Players as those who fight, constantly, for whatever it is they wish to fight for. They will not rest. We see that in Dave and Aradia, and certainly in Caliborn. Dave was extremely goal-oriented during his session, Aradia, even if due to certain influences, kept doing... Things that vaguely assisted the session, and Caliborn just. He just went. He went and fucked everything up by doing it. To make a long story short: If you told a Time Player something can't be done, they'll fucking do it and spit in the face of probability with their antics. The Prince is the Active Destruction Class. As such, the Prince's power is to Destroy their Aspect as well as Destroy using their Aspect. The most famous Prince is Eridan Ampora, Prince of Hope, who Destroyed his species’ Hope for a new generation, in the form of the Matriorb, USING Hope, in the form of the White Science Wand. He also slaughtered many Angels on his land, due to nothing more than the Belief that it was the right thing to do. The other Prince we know of is Kurloz Makara... Let's not. Overall, it's hard to say anything about Princes since we don't have good examples. Eridan was clearly not using his power as intended, and Kurloz is Lord English's henchman so... Yeah. Princes, however, do seem to have a connection with their opposite Aspect. Eridan, the Prince of Hope, was obsessed with Science and magic's Fakeness Attribute (Rage stuff) and Kurloz, the Prince of Rage, was devout to his cult until (and after) death (Hope stuff). It should still be noted that a Prince, internally, would still be connected to their own Aspect. Eridan was still a firm Believer in the power of science, even when it made no sense for science to cause such effects (White Science Wand) and Kurloz was so devoted to his cult because he believed it to be an absolute Truth. I’d say Princes have a certain fanaticism for sure. So the Prince of Time, one who Destroys Time or Destroys with Time. The Prince of Time would likely have some connection or aspiration related to the process of Creation, likely in the form of Art. This is beyond the usual connections of Time with Music, though a heavy Musical Inspiration may be a part of it. In fact, the opposite could also be true, as their Destruction of Time could very well manifest in absolute hatred of music or musical themes. Or maybe just specifically metronomes. One thing that can for sure be said about the Prince of Time is that they will be an UNSTOPABLE FORCE. For the love of whatever deity you hold your faith in, do not tell a Prince of Time to not do something, because beyond the Time Players’ tendency to do the impossible, Princes tend to focus hard on one certain area or belief. That put together makes a person that is likely a prodigy in their field due to sheer willpower alone. However, you may have heard that Princes can be self-destructive, and that goes double for the Prince of Time. If you let them get too obsessed or caught up in something they CAN’T do, they will forgo many essential aspects of survival (eating and sleeping are the most common but who knows) to try and do whatever they set their mind on. Please help your poor Princes. In a lot of respects they may seem Off Rhythm, or throw other people Off their Rhythm by being somehow Erratic or Unpredictable. I’d say a Dr. Brown from Back To The Future is a pretty good Prince of Time.

The Curious Races of SKRUB #83
Hello and welcome to the (apparently) 83rd installment of The Curious Races of SKRUB, where we explore the wacky creatures that populate paradox space. Can today’s species survive the challenges of SKRUB and make a new universe? That’s up to you and your GP! (Especially if you’re in the Ultimate SKRUB Session, wink wink check out the Discord).
Today: Clouds.
help i'm mage of blood and i have no idea what either of those do
Okay so first of all the obligatory https://discord.gg/5BDVVeS . You should really check out the Discord so you can discuss this with the great SKRUB Community! 2) I would usually refrain from answering questions of this nature, since it doesn’t have to do with SKRUB the Tabletop Creation Myth specifically but C) It’s been a while since we had an ask and I happen to be the SKRUB Classpecter, so sure. Let’s start with defining Blood and Mage. Blood is the Aspect of Bonds, Relationships, the Physical Body, and well, Blood. It represents all of those things. Unfortunately the Vantases are the only Blood players we know and they.... The only connection is the inverse way in which they handle their identity: Karkat pretends to hate everyone because he doesn't want to admit he cares and Kankri pretends to care (in his own way) because he's actually an asshole. Blood players are a limited pool of people, and they all have big personalities. One is a big shouty pottymouth, one is an SJW preacher, and one is Jesus Having-Intercourse-With Christ. I suppose they are all very talkative, which would make sense for the Aspect of Bonds and Friendship. Mage: The Active Knowing Class Mages are the most enveloped in their Aspect of all Classes, just about. Sollux had Death surrounding him, in his head and in his life in general (See Aradia, see Hivebent). Meulin was constantly in emotional turmoil: Kurloz, Shipping, Fangirly Shrieking. Mages are the ones we really know the least about. Mages are the most INVOLVED in their Aspect. They don't only Know their Aspect and Know through their Aspect but they also use that knowledge. Meulin mentions making "magic" with her shipping and Sollux straight up helps cause the apocalypse. Mages are also noted for learning "On their flesh" as it were, learning through experience and 'suffering'. Blood, Sweat and tears y'know? So Mage of Blood, one who Knows Blood or Knows through Blood. A Mage of Blood would gain Knowledge through their ties to others, like they could be big into gossip or a serial stalker. The Knowledge they gain may also be related to Blood, either in the sense of it being related to Relationships between people, the Physical Body, or even just advanced Bondage. You may also take Blood as literal Blood and say that they learn through Conflict and Fighting, learning as they inflict and gain Wounds. Overall this Classpect seems perfect for creating Drama, and they may just find themselves in it a lot, as a Mage tends to be very enveloped in their Aspect as I said before. This involvement probably comes from the aforementioned Blood Players’ big personality. So overall we have kind of a social star. How they decide to present themselves, and how malicious they are is down to the person. Well this was fun. Join the Discord!

hey are there printable character sheets that are more in line with the ones shown in the handbook rather than the google sheets one you've linked in the past?
As of right now such sheets only work for the Alpha version. I’m afraid we have no clear date for when we will have detailed sheets for the Beta version.
The SKRUB Character Sheet Tutorial by Max B.
The following will be using a digital character sheet made by our very own Mod Strat, an explanation by the aforementioned Mod Max, and a post by I, Mod Bucket! So long as we’re namedropping our great people of the Dev Team, here’s a fun fact! Regardless of this being the Spooky Month, the Mods are actually all already cryptids. Mod SKRUBLORD is naturally some sort of God-Tiered individual, Mod Jerry is not of this dimension, Mod Strat is literally a living Excel spreadsheet, Mod Max is currently possesing a pair of headphones, Mod Skorx is some description of ghoul, I am a minor deity (guess of what), and Mod Beebz is the anime girl that lives with us and eventually romances one of us in the upcoming Unofficial SKRUB Dating Sim. And now: Tutorial. -Mod Bucket first off, open this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HEsYJcrAiFQuaWLCXqPBElzsBVSyeT2Gs_1z3HRLso4/edit?usp=sharing blank sheet template up and make a copy of it. There's a lot of stuff here, but a bunch of it is automatic, and I'll walk you through it step by step. start on the self sheet. 1. Basic info here's where you put your character name, chumhandle, arc number (if the GP wishes to have one), player name, and hex code. Server, Client, and Sprite get filled in during the game, so don't worry about it yet. The next box is for your land quest. Quests may be revealed to you by the GP before or during the game. If during, just put your title under "dwells the" and fill in the rest later. You can also put in your symbol if you have one.
2. Bio(graphy) most of this is straightforward, put down who lives in your house with you, where your house is, blood caste or social clique, and gender (not necessarily the same as sex). Interests can be whatever you want, but be sure to have at least 6 of them for a later step. In the space on the bottom you can put in a quote that sums up your character's personality.
3. Traits This is Skrub's equivalent to base stats. They describe not your physical skills, but your personality. Here's a rundown: PUL: charisma, coolness, attractiveness VIM: fighting spirit, aggression IMG: creativity, ability to think up new ideas ADR: mental quickness SAG: wisdom, attentiveness PLK: determination, ability to stay positive in the face of hardship The right column is where you put in the base numbers, the left column is the bonus (which is calculated automatically). Start by raising 5 different traits by 1. Then raise 4 by 1. Then 3, then 2, then 1. At the end of it, you should have a total of 15 points among them, with no traits higher than 5. Some potential distributions are 5/4/3/2/1/0, 4/4/2/2/1/1, 3/3/3/3/0, 4/3/3/3/2.
4. Talents these are the common skill checks you'll be making outside (and sometimes inside) of combat. I won't give a rundown for each, but treat it like a word game: if any definition of the word is viable for a situation, you can roll the talent for it. A good example is that roast is both used for cooking and making fun of people. Ignore the interests for now. Of the talents, raise 13 of them by a single point. Then raise another 4 by 1 (can be the same as first volley or different). You should have 17 points distributed across talents, which can be 17 with a value of 1; 7 with 1 and 4 with 2, or anywhere in between. Now, for interests. Each of them is associated with a trait. Take 6 of the interests you made earlier and assign them to their closest-related traits here. These are your custom skills that you can roll throughout the game.
5. Echeladder you can customize the names of each rung in accordance to your character beforehand, or wait to name them until the game so you can name them according to quest.
that's it for the self sheet for now! click the tab next to it to go to the body sheet. 6. Tendencies these are mostly used in-combat, but most of them have an out of combat use as well. They all start at 1, and then you choose another 6 to raise by another 1. You may have noticed that next to the traits table, there's tendencies listed in pairs that correspond to each trait. As traits increase throughout the game, their tendencies rise as well. When a trait reaches a bonus of 2 or higher, pick one of the two traits to raise as well (not applicable during creation as you can't exceed a bonus of 1)
7. Bio(logy) very straightforward, put your age, sex, species, and dreaming moon. sn# is only applicable to robots or other creatures that have serial numbers.
8. Form Schema upload a picture of your character! you can use sheet magic to post an image, or just paste in the URL in the bottom and let it take care of itself.
you'll notice other tables as well, but these are all updated throughout the game please turn to the tab "grist cache/invenstory" 9. Wishes and Triggers: these are things your character does or doesn't want to happen. The rules for how these work are explained in section 3 of the rulebook, but for now, just know you should include a handful of these for flavor. The magnitude of all your triggers must be equal to the magnitude for all your wishes or else the sheet will be mad at you.
and now for the most tedious part, please turn to tab "portfolio". 10. Techniques: the list of techniques is found in section 6 of the rulebook. All players start with three basic techniques (aggrieve, accede, abscond), and the others increase along with your tendencies (if you have a 2 in tempo, you know tier 1 and 2 tempotech). Copy/paste all valid techniques here so you don't have to refer back to the rulebook.
11. Strife Tab: almost all of this is all handled automatically. You'll notice there's a weapon card in the side; That’s in a different sheet. In the box labelled "sleeve", you can select from your list of techniques. Only techniques in your sleeve can be used during battle, and they can be traded out outside of combat. deep breath And that’s it! -Mod Max
Do you have any plans to condense the systems? It’s all interesting stuff, but there are way too many things to reasonably keep track of.
I personally don’t think so. The system itself is more condensed in the Beta than in the Alpha as is, and I personally don’t think it’s all too difficult to keep up with. But hey, that’s just a matter of opinion! So I guess we aren’t gonna condense it at any time soon.
