"Karanak is entirely understandable."
"A 'curse' the Dark Prince bestows on his mortal children, not moi." The Keeper says airily. " Only to push them to greater heights. We are not the Nurgh and our master does not reward stagnation."
Tanakhuill's looks at the bloody gobbet. Her disgust is brief and she smiles at the Daemon Prince of Khorne. " You say that now, but you are a young daemon yet. There are those of the Slaughterer who grow bored with the slaughter, or bitter. Kharneth is stingy with his gifts as my lord is not. My Prince owns many of his sons, daemon and mortal."
"Who knows? Perhaps a day will come when the Hound forsakes you or the taking of skulls fails to excite anymore. Perhaps I will own you as my prince owns many of your brothers and sisters."
"No, I suppose you wouldn't understand." He admits with a hum. Its true. The Keeper was never mortal; sensations were not felt the same way even now. It was almost disturbing, in a way.
"What? Do you think I will follow in the footsteps of Skarbrand? Believe I am superior to the Bloodfather and attempt to usurp him?" He laughs, tongue swiping fangs. "You do not know me, Keeper. There is no glory to tempt me with, no greater thrill. If others are so weak as to believe that Slaanesh offers more, then they deserve nothing but my axe and contempt."
The Keeper's next words, though, strike a very raw nerve. He whirls, the skull in his hand shattering into shards as a vicious snarl rips from his chest. He's much smaller than the Keeper is in height, but that doesn't stop him. He all but squares up.
"I will tear out your throat if you suggest that again." He snarls. The air around them grows substantially hotter; Emil's skin literally shimmers with the heat of his rage.
" He tricked you." Comes Tanakhuill's succinct judgement. " You were a dumb little mortal whelp, and he tricked you."
" To give up such a wealth of experience and emotion for... slaughter and murder, murder and slaughter, blood and bones and bones and blood. Forever. I would rather be unmade than suffer such monotony."
" Fortunate for you Blood Seekers that you cross paths with us Pleasure kin often enough, to break up such a boring existence."
Emil actually laughs, then, bemused.
"What of you? Your ilk chase base pleasures and sensations until you feel nothing and must reach for more. I could not imagine a worse existence than knowing the sensation of murder would one day grow so stale and meaningless that I would need to chase theatrics."
He holds the skull up for a moment. It is small in his clawed palm.
"Fortunately, taking this head was just as satisfying as it ever has been. I do not fight for glory, or honor. I fight to kill. This is my experience. And in that vein, crossing paths with the Mother's spawn is far preferable to Tzeentch."
He spits onto the floor.
Emil when Tanakhuill comes and starts talking:
@slaanxsh
" Not that there is any shame in fear. All sensation, all emotions, are a gift. Not that you would know much about it, ever-rageful little pup that you are~"
Emil bares his teeth irritably. Fortunately, insofar as Khornates go, he was much less prone to murdering on a dime - at least in circumstances like that.
"Not that I would care to." He snorts. Its that resigned sigh dogs do when they know they're not getting out of somethng - like this conversation. "I was mortal once. I lived a full life of experience - but nothing was better than murder and violence. The Hound spoke to me from the time I was young."
"I have known those that boast they do not feel fear, and so they need not overcome it. Almost without fail, they perish in a foolish manner than disgraces them as a follower of Khorne, long before they could offer Him a true bounty."
