a celebratory practice piece I made in regards to Estelle Ellis on an interview with the creator of StarFox Event Horizon answering my question about if Krystal would wear a cape. Totally glad to hear that she likely would so here’s Krystal in a cape, gold, and some other StarFoxy things. Fox’s color is taken from Dinosaur Planet 64 since I think he looks better in blue than green. I think it really makes them pop together.

I'm revisiting some older pieces I've wanted to spruce up.
“Interplanetary Attack Shuttle” for my illustrated novel WIP. It is meant to illicit a sense of familiarity to StarFox which I hope fans will notice, namely of course the Great Fox.
Lucy’s First Mission
Lucy Hare is nervous about her first mission, but the others reassure her. Also I like Krystal in gold, the gold suit is from the SF Assault multiplayer if Krystal is player 3. I think it might arguably look as good or better than the blue one. I tend to relegate the green suit to Miyu, and put Fay in something similar to what Slippy wears. Also first try at drawing Falco in his Assault suit, it's kinda tough.
I like to put Sabre on a sub-team with Miyu and Fay as a means to integrate him into the StarFox Universe like what has been done already with Krystal, who hangs out of course with the boys, so Sabre hangs out with the girls now. Since Sabre wears green in Dinosaur Planet I think a neat way to set him apart would be to take his Arwing and color it green instead of blue. I actually wanted to give Sabre a unique custom ship that is thematic to the EarthWalkers like Krystal has with her CloudRunner, but that would be a lot of work and I'm lazy :Y.
The finished version of an earlier art piece that I forgot to upload. I decided to go all out with this one and experimented with a few things. Again, Sabre is so powerful under Drakor's spell that Krystal can barely keep him from lopping off her friend's heads, Miyu and Fox come in for a grapple, or a stun maybe. Fay is terrified to see her friends fighting, and doing so up close like this.
Sabre is under a powerful psionic spell from Drakor, he is much too powerful for any one member of the StarFox team to subdue, so they are trying to work together to bring him down without harming or especially not killing him, but it is difficult. Randorn has taught him well. Krystal leading the charge with her staff, while Miyu, having lost her blaster, goes in for a grapple. Fox is on his way as well, and Fay is terrified she may lose a friend or two in this scuffle.

"Andross promised me what I couldn't refuse!! Money!!" Honestly, Pigma being super concerned about cash, and James and Peppy chewing him out for it could probably co-dependently drive an even bigger wedge between the three exacerbating his likelihood to betray them. who says James had to be a perfect person? or Peppy? I'm also infatuated with the idea of Randorn being severely morally imperfect. If he himself doesn't massacre Krystal's people, perhaps Andross could have like in Adventures, BUT he had a hand in it as well, serving Andross at one point. PerhapsRandorn knows a thing or two about treachery and mistrust. Selling outthe Cerinians to aid Animus, making a deal with the devil in Andross andliving to regret it, raising Krystal in shame. of course I also had to add a toddler Krystal waving goodbye to the SNES Arwings flying off into space. Adult stuff went way over her head.

Krystal blazing it up with the Gatling Gun. Inspired by some of the promo art of Krystal holding the gatling gun, and I think it's a good fit for her. Here's Krystal going BRRRTT with a Gatling Gun, and some explosions I guess.
StarFox needs to embrace its varied history and make use of neglected elements. So here's a StarFox'ified Sabre from Dinosaur Planet with the rest of the team fighting Drakor in space because why not. Krystal of course likely in the Cloudrunner, Fox in his Arwing II, either Slippy or Peppy in the bomber variant down below, Fay in the interceptor and probably Falco in the Arwing above. One of the standard Arwings is green, if Sabre got into a ship, I see him having it custom colored green instead of the standard blue. StarFox should embrace more of Dinosaur Planet I think, especially the parts that felt like a perfect fit but didn't make it into SF Adventures. I'd really like to see Drakor become a main villain in the StarFox universe. He got slept on so hard and it was so lame they removed him and his story. Drakor is an ancient being fighting an eons-long war with the Krazoa and doesn't care if he destroys Sauria and all its inhabitants to defeat them. Let's say the whole Lylat System stands in his way, and his quest to defeat the Krazoa continues.

Hot Fanon Takes(tm) - Part 3

Hello and welcome to Hot Fanon Takes, where I scream into the void about how I feel about fanon. Today’s edition is going to be purely based on Krystal and Cerinia, as I feel like both of these figures have become absolutely enveloped in fanon. Unlike my last two parts, today’s segment has more than 3 segments and might be a bit more rapid-fire than lengthy explanations. So please enjoy.

This one took me longer than I thought it would because there’s… a lot.
Let’s focus on Krystal-only ones starting off!
#1 - Krystal was raised on Sauria by dinosaurs
I am not sure there’s a definitive origin for this one. This is somewhat common– I’ve seen it in a few fanworks, enough to throw it onto my list. This might be inspired from Krystal’s Dinosaur Planet rendition, as that rendition was orphaned at a very young age after her tribe was massacred. Alternatively, it could be inspired by how people interpreted Krystal’s character. It’s important to note that people can take in the same media and draw different conclusions. And that could very well be the case here.
My hot take: I don’t entirely vibe with it as a headcanon for reasons that I’m not sure I can really put into words. Canonically, I don’t think it’s true given the text we have in-game but I don’t necessarily dislike the idea. I don’t particularly find it as compelling at the idea of her having stumbled across Dinosaur Planet on her own and deciding to help out due to the good nature of her heart. Krystal gets a pitiful amount of on-screen time but her actions during that time speak a lot for her character, I think.
I think people who use this headcanon inevitably have to come up with where the staff came from and her clothes. I’ve seen some people suggest she could have gotten the clothes on Sauria but they don’t really say where the clothes would have come from on Sauria. I mean, I’m a glutton for blaming the Krazoa on everything but I don’t know if I can reason that the Krazoa made Krystal a golden bikini. Unless that was some of their old clothes she found or something… (Do not make me think of Krazoa in golden bikinis, brain, I beg of you). Additionally, she doesn’t really seem to know much about the planet, as she has to be informed about things like the Krazoa.
Moving on. That’s not to say there’s no merit to this fanon. Krystal already seems acquainted with the CloudRunner tribe when she makes her introduction into the game and she can already speak the same language as the dinosaurs. Her staff also has upgrades that are scattered about the planet, clearly tying it to Sauria. So while I don’t really vibe with this as a headcanon, that’s not to say it’s bad or totally unreasonable.
