Crazy experience moving in with people you don't know bc you have to live beside them as you get to know them and you realize people are weird and you don't like it at all

#i was clearing the dishwashing real quick before running to the bus so i already had my headphones in #and today is a day both my roommates have off so i assumed i wouldn't be interacting w them #tell me WHY was my roommate just standing behind me for god knows how long just to jump scare me?????#and TELL ME WHY. were they mad/weirded out by me fetting startled????? chastising me??????? YOU WERE LURKING #laughing at me 'i wanted to see how long it took you to notice i was here' why would i notice??#i am clearly focusing on a task with headphones in!!! be nice to me and get my attention in a normal ass way dude hfc #like they are a very nice person but i don't think they either know there is a line between friend and friendly #or worse! this is just how they treat people they consider friends!#like overfamiliar! i don't know you!! we aren't friends! don't intentionally scare me at 8am and laugh at me!

Look, it’s not that I believe in him. Nor he in me. We have moved beyond all that. I just like having someone there in the dark. Usually we sit in silence, waiting for passing headlights to glide across the ceiling and knock stray prayers loose from where they got stuck on their way out, so many years ago. It’s almost like finding old piñata candy, says God, picking one from the floorboards. He unwraps it, takes a quick taste. Winces. Nods like he’s just remembered something for the thousandth, thousandth time. What is it? I ask. It’s kind of like chewing tinfoil, he says. All that aching naked hope.
