Sudden Clarity

People forget that the universe doesn't revolve around this planet. Around us. We revolve around it. I wish we could just live in peace, and realize that we aren't as important as we think we are. Look at the stars. You are nothing to them. A speck of dust. That's all anything is. Dust. Random molecules that form plants, water, all of life. That is the beautiful thing. The way these microscopic things can fit like puzzle pieces and form the things they do. Why don't we marvel at that simple fact? Why do we destroy? Why do we insist upon knowing how it works? Can't we just be content that we are here at all? What luck we have! To be aware, to see the beauty the universe has to offer... Instead, we focus on how to lengthen the lifespan of a human, how to kill each other, how to preserve a beauty that is not meant to last. We take advantage of life, and take everything that exists for granted. It will all be gone one day. So why does it matter what kind of car you have, or how long you live, or how many people think you're beautiful? Enjoy life while you have it, and stop being so selfish.
