The guy nods, bites his lip. Fucking hell, why does the air in here feel so dry? Jesus.
It smells really good up at the counter. The plate of Mystery Baked Good is no longer steaming, but Eddie peers at it anyway while the guy points to the card machine, says it’s ready to tap. He notices Eddie’s gaze.
“Eating on the job,” he smiles. “Unprofessional, I know.”
Eddie puts his phone up to pay, waits for the ping. “Nah, not at all. Smells fuckin’ unreal though, you make that?”
“Yeah. It’s pretty old school- I’ll put anything in a pie if it grows out back, even rhubarb.”
“Rhubarb?” Eddie inquires.
“You haven’t- you’ve not tried rhubarb before? I think it’s more of a thing in like, Europe to be fair. It’s just easy as fuck to grow. Tastes real good stewed or in pie or cake.”
Eddie nods. Rhubarb. He’ll be investigating this Rhubarb later.
“Do you- want to try some?”
Eddie blinks. So does Hot Guy- it kind of looks like he asked that question without meaning to, because his face freezes and then goes all red.
“I mean-”
“Yeah. If you’re offering.”
Is that weird? It’s probably weird, to accept pie from a random dude in a store that could have god knows what in it. Especially when you’re technically a celebrity. But weird is kind of his MO, so fuck it.
The guy pushes the plate towards him, fork dangling off the edge. It’s untouched, still warm.
He tries not to overthink it as he scoops a chunk off the edge, puts it in his mouth. He sees the guy's eyes widen ever so slightly. Fuck this pie is good- the flavour is sharp, tangy, the pastry crust sweet and soft. Unreal.
“You have a tongue piercing,” the guy blurts out. Eddie stares. Swallows the pie.
“Uh. Yes?”
“Cool.”
And then-
“I’m Steve, by the way.”
Critical hit! Name unlocked.
“Well, Steve,” Eddie grins, “that’s the best fuckin’ pie I’ve eaten in a long time. And I’m Eddie.”
I made the pdf of Astarion’s Dagger, the one he has equipped early in the game (the one he uses against Tav, during their first meeting… if you know what I mean 👀 ).

As info: the total length should be 39 cm or 15,35 inches. You can adjust the pdf scale using your printer, according to the length you want it to be.
It was honestly a bit hard to draw, since it’s not a knife and the lines are not straight, but the center line IS straight so (I guess it’s one of the few straight things about him… anyways) I had to balance the lines a bit
It has a place in my heart because it is the first EVA foam thing I made 💖 so I think sharing is the right thing to do… hope it helps! 🍀

Ah and from this magnificent fair I did not buy anything but I brought home a fantastic DERMATITIS thank you very much
So to ALL Astarion cosplayers: don’t wear the pants if it’s hot. It’s not just the heat, it’s the heat, the sweat, the dust, everything will collect in those pants.

Our beloved vampire does not have a heartbeat, he does not sweat. But JUST LIKE US he does not like the concentrated power of the SUN in his pants, for a whole day.
You want to wear a good cosplay? Find a cotton alternative for the pants. Or suffer the consequences like me. It’s been 2 days of dermatitis, I got some medicine prescribed today :) I want to kill the sun

Linen and cotton and all kind of natural fiber stuff is generally speaking GREAT for summer cosplay! My shirt is made of cotton btw, and at least that saved me…
For the shiny effect @thecadaver suggests polished cottons or cotton sateen (mind you reader, sateen is a bit hard to sew because it’s shiny but it could be a real solution!). Maybe the brown part in satin, and the black part in linen….
The hardest part about making the pants is the leaf print on the black part: I could not find it where I live and I didn’t want to have it shipped from China (no offense), so I used another fake leather.
Still, the point of this is that every fake leather is a bad choice in the heat
I’ll use this cosplay in winter until I have another pant option for summer. (Btw I didn’t go to the contest, but maybe next year I could… with a summer outfit)

I finally went to the summer fantasy fair I was planning to go since last year lol
It was Festa dell’Unicorno 2024 in Vinci, it’s a beautiful fantasy themed fair in July, basically the hottest days of the year (35 degrees Celsius, 95 Fahrenheit for the US readers)… I will make a post about my cosplay experience in the summer but today I just want to write here what I think were some of the best reactions and interactions I had in my Astarion costume (in random order):
- lady from Liguria who really liked my costume and she didn’t even play the game! She has a friend who’s obsessed with Astarion and basically now she’s obsessed too 😆 honestly how can you resist Astarion???
- guy who passed by me and said in English “Astarion did nothing wrong!”
- a girl with a white dog asking if I wanted a picture with Scratch (I REALLY DID but the dog was tired and it was dark, and I’m too shy to say something if it may inconvenience people)
- guys holding a third guy dressed as a werewolf, said “oh no, better keep the werewolf far from the vampire!” And I smiled and then hissed at them (fangs out)
- every other Astarion cosplay was so nice! There were at least six other Astarion and they were all so good 💖
The fact they always waved excitedly when they saw another Astarion was so pure and adorable, it made me happy 😆
BONUS: I had some stickers that I made in case someone asked for a picture (mind that my wig was definitely not good enough) and I stored them in my fake book (like the one he reads in camp): I gave a sticker to a lot of people and the reactions were priceless
Yes, the stickers said “Astarion approves.”
