this is simply too funny
New D20 Season: Playtime is over?
So i think what they were trying to convey is ww2, british children evacuated to the countryside and taken away by faeries in the new strange wilderness. OR, they're playing toys. So it's either very Narnia, very JRR Tolkien (in a meta sense based on when he published and his general vibe of tweed and nature, etc, not literally like his works), and code breaking, maybe even a country house? AND OR Toy Story of some variety.
My only clear thought so far is that i think some of the players are playing fairies, just because of the names, or are actually toys, because none of the names seemed like funny british child names of the 1930s but did seem like funny british child toy names of the 30s.
My unclear thought is that Siobhan literally has to be playing in this season or what was this all for? if there is any kind of code breaking, any sort of british 30s children's literature references, like she HAS to be there.
Edit: Actually, I've just watched it again and these are the names. Constance, Tiddlywinks (Possibly Tiddely Winks), Avery, Clyde, Calypso, and Wydon.
Based on the imagery some of those characters are toy soldiers, I think Clyde is most definitely a rocking horse, i think constance is a frightful porcelain doll, and though i'm not sure who, one of them is a marionette.
I've had the other thought that this might be a bunch of toys going to rescue children who have been snatched by fairies, since their parents aren't around to help, and i feel it'll be exploring the reinvention of childhood that occurs in post ww1 england, where following the devastation of the great war, the idea of children having a childhood becomes a much stronger social focus, and then with war and evacuation, independence and or feelings of abandonment become prominent as well.
also the poem used in the voice over is the Stolen Child by William Butler Yeats, about fairies luring children away, so yeah, those toys are going to save their children

The reason Sam Reid can go from farmboy to rock star is because Lestst has a powerful, transformative effect on his hosts. The reason nothing ever happend to Tom Cruise was because Lestst couldn't possess him, he was too busy possessing Anne Rice, and turning Christopher Rice gay in the womb

Though I have never been to a DMV office myself, I'm told it's quite a reached experience, and I must wonder if adding a slushy or popcorn machine wouldn't change people's expoetances?

I'm reading chapter 20 of witch hat atelier, and do you guys think these columns getting more and more damaged as we go along is a reference to those cover spines on the Rise and Fall of the roman empire books?

That person who described Ellen as an apex predator, one who controlled who was allowed to go from niche moment of virality to stable notoriety was really on to something. I was thinking about her in the context of Clavicular and supposed she probably didn't have the power to destroy him early on.... but do you know who could have?
*menacing thunder crackles*
Dr Phil!
He'd have sucked every bit of marrow from the smashed facial bones kf that boy in a 40 minute episode and we'd never see him again.
The physical comedy of this season is frankly unmatched

The easiest explanation LaVonte could have given: Yes hello, this is my husband and our daughter
The most rational explanation LaVonte could have given: This is my business partner, and this young woman is our intern
The explanation LaVonte did give: This man right here is my cousin. Through marriage. And this is our… friend
The dynamic duo
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Brennan do this with his face before. I’ve never seen a man so totally gobsmacked about getting called out.
