!! procreate 30s speedpaint (flashing warning) !!

i've been getting some asks about the process for Chimeric Deity, so i'll try to show it a bit!

i added a bunch of texture using a texture overlay brush! in procreate, hartz/currawong/tarkine are default old library ones that i primarily use

planning is an essential part of this, since i separate the layered parts into separate uv-wrapped planes in blender

the result is a silly looking deconstructed fellow across several pngs + separated out bg

i don't record my blender processes usually, but basically every segment is mapped to a 2d plane that is layered

animation uses blender as well, i primarily use shape keys for these cause it's pretty quick basically i move around the segments for a few different keys, keyframe them, then alter their framerates/frame placement

when rendered, i put it into a video editor to up the saturation a bit (my lighting was a little meh in blender) + i added the star gifs that i made awhile ago for a different piece to add some more pizzaz

and there we go! a journey across multiple programs procreate -> blender -> vid editor -> (ezgif video to gif lol)

hope that helps a little, i've done a couple explanations for similar pieces before with a personal #my resources tag but i miss tagging sometimes

assorted tribe doodles -- im trying to solidify anatomy to draw them with

Seawings - Seal inspo with a little bit of swordfish mixed in. i wanted to make them look longgg and blubbery but i think i couldve made them look more long

Nightwings - monitor lizard mixed with vulture in posture. i tried to make them look a little more wiry. i feel like these guys would have big ass claws to climb on rocks as well as the ability to eat carron. theyd sit like gargoyles

Mudwings - crocodile with big powerful front legs for digging and wrestling down large prey. i might revise this one a little to have a bit of frog mixed in, a bigger head, and flatter back. i feel like theyd have much smaller spikes than other tribes to blend in with mud
