hard but worth it
one of the most important things i’ve learned in therapy is that when you’ve experienced prolonged trauma in your childhood, pleasure feels uncomfortable. like, not that you don’t feel it, but that when you do feel it there’s an impulse to make it stop, because it’s extremely unfamiliar. and pleasure can mean many things, as simple as feeling cozy, and as complex as feeling loved. the neural pathways for feeling good have not had a chance to develop, and the neural pathways for feeling bad are quite practiced. feeling good, too, takes conscious practice.
Before Sunrise (1995) dir. Richard Linklater

Stop being so afraid to be confident. There’s actually a lot of great things about you. Don’t deny those things, embrace them. You’re beautiful and smart and kind and you need to stop punishing yourself for acknowledging it and trying to believe it.

June 8th 2018 - Sabina teaches us how to make pasties and jewellery from fresh flowers (Heart, Beth, Mo, Peach, Kitten, Sabina, Ms.O & Elly)
Whole garlic heads pickled in seasoned elderberry wine vinegar
One quart jar: 1 bay leaf ( I used ½ California bay leaf) 1 ¼ cup red wine vinegar (Elderberry wine vinegar on my side) ¼ cup basalmic vinegar 3 tablespoons Maple syrup 1 ½ tablespoon soy sauce 2 tablespoons dehydrated elderberries ½ teaspoon peppercorn 6 gr sliced fresh ginger 2 spicy chili pods ( I used wild chili pequin peppers) Enough garlic heads to fill up loosely the quart jar, I found some organic small one and used 10. Procedure: Bring vinegars and spice to a boil in a pan. Remove most of the outer papery skins from garlic heads. Place garlic heads in a clean jar. Pour the pickling solution and close the jar. Store in a cool/dark place for at least 6 to 8 weeks but you could age it in cool area (basement) for years.

i’m healing me, i’m loving me, i’m supporting me, i’m showing up for me, i’m defending me, i’m nurturing me, and i’m protecting me.
