Long ass rant about how the ii remaster didn't "Ruin Evil paper" โ
"oh they ruined Evil paper, oh he's not even evil anymore, oh ii is too serialized now, oh-
I HATE hearing people talk about them like this
NEWS FLASH IDIOTS the original "Evil paper" from season 1 was a stereotype of the "Evil alter ego" trope which stems from the horrible misconception and stereotypes of D.I.D
If you don't know D.I.D aka Dissociative identity disorder, is a disorder where a person who had received trauma in their childhood will have their mind split into another or multiple other people
It often includes gaps in memory, Depersonalization, Derealization and Passive influence
It is a serious disorder that many people have and the original Evil paper from season 1 was incredibly insulting and harmful D.I.D representation
"Oh but I highly doubt Paper has D.I.D, you people are just reading to much into it"
Ok, here's Papers official Wikipedia page
"It was clear that his long stay on Idiotic Island affected his mental health greatly. In addition to exacerbating his anger issues, he also split an alter. This alter, Evil Paper"
And when clicking on the word "Alter" it takes you to the Wikipedia page for D.I.D
In the remaster "Evil paper" (who I will be calling LooseLeaf) Instead of being evil and murderous for absolutely no reason, is now portrayed as a protector
A protector in the D.I.D system is someone who Protects the system, physically and / or emotionally, from outward and internal harm
In the ii remaster LooseLeaf only fronts whenever Paper or Papers friends are in danger, They only attack others when they are attacked first
They literally say it themselves in the episode
"I tried to shoulder the burden of all your pain so you could be at peace"
LooseLeaf is only trying to protect Paper, They don't hurt others because they want to, They're only happy and enjoy it because they clearly take pride in what they do
This is a much better and good representation of D.I.D and what it's like to have the disorder and any people with D.I.D highly enjoy these changes
The ii remaster didn't "ruin Evil Paper"
They just made it so they weren't a harmful D.I.D stereotype
