I took some time off the blog while I was growing a baby, a truly amazing experience.  I'm happy to be back in the garden this spring with my baby boy in tow.  Sweet peas and lettuce planted 4/6/14.

Lot's of exciting happenings this year, Tom and I got married and we are expecting a baby boy mid September!

People usually think they have to wear themselves out, they have to grind themselves down, they have to run themselves ragged, chasing after serenity. They forget that peace is the grace of the heart. Whenever the haze that normally clouds your perception gives way and you see your own Self clearly, even for a moment, you experience the most exquisite peace rising up within you. Peace is not as rare as you have been led to believe.

Garden Update

Last fall I planted fava beans to eat and fava bean cover crop in almost every empty garden bed.  Now they are about 16" tall and some are forming buds.  Last year I planted them in February and didn't have stalks this tall until May.  I love the jumpstart you can get from fall planting for spring eating.  See the full fava saga here.
