Welcome to slimeknight thought of the day!

This is just a sideblog to share my own headcanons and rambles about Avery x D3rlord3, since im currently obsessing over them and need to put my thoughts about them somewhere. I originally posted these on my tiktok story, but i kinda wanted to post them somewhere where they can truly be archived and not disappear forever after 24 hours. So here we are!

i think D3r got really protective over Avery at some point and if someone were to call Avery an idiot he'd be like "HEY DONT DO THAT. Only I can do that. he's MY idiot" or something like that. He just seems like that imo

I LOVE THIS 😭😭😭😭 truthfullyy i dont think derek would call Avery an idiot THAT much just because he knows aves pretty insecure about his own intelligence but i do think derek would get ridiculously mad when avery is insulted by literally anyone. And avery the same obviously i just think theyre both protective of eachother In general

CANON CANON CANON i think derek would say it in the most sophisticated detailed way possible too they're like averys little derekgpt. Everyone always talks about avery being the yapper and derek being the listener but truly i think it goes both ways if you set your heart to it o7. Maybe avery starts asking questions about things derek likes just so he can see them start joyfully reciting an entire wikipedias article of information

(were pretending that nothing bad ever happened to them and they met irl after the incident ok ok i’m coping)

when they met up irl together, derek noticed how openly and unapologetically queer avery was in public. it was shocking to him because of how secretive derek was about his queerness, but ended up giving him the confidence to come out.

Ohh Bro i love it whenever people make derek kinda secretive about that stuff its So canon in my head. Avery accepted he was a transgender fag when he was a preteen and told literally EVERYONE. and then literally nobody fucking knows dereks queer like imo not even they themself know until avery explains to them and theyre like Holy shit i literally have infinite knowledge how the fuck did i not realize that sooner. In my headcanon averys the only person who knows dereks a woke they/he because hes the only person theyre close enough to open up to . I love avery giving derek the confidence to come out yesss support your loser boyfriend

Avery keeps on coming back to Derek's grave with loyalty and brings him a boutique of blue orchids specifically. Since his place isn't that far from Derek's, he sometimes may occasionally visit his mother and questions about her son's interests.

oughhhboughhh oughhh..the blue orchids .... i like to think that along with the blue orchids, avery always brings derek forget-me-nots. His dying wish was not to be forgotten, after all. Maybe he sits them down and then proceeds to talk to dereks grave about his daily life as if he had never left him at all. Maybe avery likes to think somewhere out there derek can hear him.

I always think its so tragic that avery and derek lived near eachother. For all Avery knows they couldve bumped eachother in a grocery store or sat next to eachother at a train not knowing how much theyll soon come to change the trajectory of each other's lives.

I also think that people don't really explore averys potential relationship with dereks mom often. I think avery first comes to her to get to know about who derek was and then eventually they become friends. I think they have tea parties :)

DAY 36

Minutes before derek died, he choses to use the last of his energy to search for information about avery in his brain one last time. He sees the future, where avery is finally able to move forward and eventually heal and believe in himself and live a fulfilling life, and only until then does derek allow himself to die at peace

derek immediately being loved by animals and avery immediately being hated by them. Cats immediately rub against dereks leg and purr while it takes 500 pieces of cod for one to even come near avery. I think averys good with kids though

derek immediately falling inlove with avery the moment he gains infinite knowledge while it took years after dereks passing for avery to realize what he felt was love

Avery not knowing how to respond after him and derek make out for the first time so he just gives him a high five

derek having a massive headache and just. Curling up to Avery and letting him hold him in his arms. Avery pushing strands of hair from his face to gently kiss his forehead before slowly guiding him to their shared bed

TW VOMIT, EATING ISSUES

Derek getting so used to vomiting when eating anything but soylent that its his body's instant response when eating regular food, even while having his mind numbed by anesthesia and countless other drugs as he's recovering in the hospital.

Avery getting more depressed and losing more of his appetite as time goes on to the point where food doesn't even interest him and he'd rather skip on meals even if he starves. After all, his starvation is only a fraction of the suffering Derek induced because of avery's sheer existence
