"That sounds nice. I was heading to the library, I need to look up some things for a case I’m working on."

"That sounds lovely. Though I don't know if it would be good for the hat to wear it while cleaning." She shrugged. "It's fine. My stepsister's a princess. And I'm just a maid. A delivery girl."
"I have no idea what you're doing here either. The Palace gardens are supposed to be off limits to the general public."
"The Princesses keeping you on a leash?"
"A very tight one. And it doesn't help that the Q- I mean, the other royalty seem to have an endless list of tasks for me to do as well."Â

I dunno, I think it’s more of a greenish than a yellow.

"Basically. We live together, but we aren’t related, and we aren’t fucking, you know?"
"I'm sure they did. Yikes… I would have been scared out of my wits."Â
"I guess so… I've never been in that situation, but it makes sense." As the sun sank further behind the horizon, she shivered. "Oh, great. I left my sweater back at the Fire and Ice. Go figure."

"Just down that way a little bit," Stiles said, pointing. "I don’t think Layla’s home yet, though, so we’ll be fending for ourselves," he laughed. "Hopefully, we don’t burn the house down."
"I'm good at foraging, so we'll be fine. Though not burning the house down is a good idea."Â
They walked down the streets quietly for a couple minutes, just holding hands. Then Elena asked, "Who is Layla? Your sister?"

"We could just cook whatever’s in my fridge, if you want." Stiles reddened slightly. "I’m very good at making fish, you know." He grinned, looking over at her. "You decide. Though, it’s starting to get a little dark-it might be better if we stay indoors."
"Freshly made food does sound really good. Though I didn't know that you cooked… Learn something new everyday." She smiled back at him. "Indoors it is then. Where do you live?"

"Yes. Food. Let’s go." Stiles took her hand, glancing over at Warren before opening the door to Fire and Ice and heading out. "Do you want to go to the Four Diamonds? Wait…it’s closed. Where else can we go?"
Elena clasped his hand tightly as they walked out of the Fire and Ice. "Maybe the Wonderland Cafe? I think it's still open. Or we could just go by some fast food place and get something to go. Eating in the park might be nice. Though maybe dangerous. I'm rambling again, aren't I? Sorry. I do that when I'm really happy. Or nervous. But mostly happy."Â
"You’re telling me. One minute I was just trying to listen to Sara Bareilles, the next a flock of crazy birds attacked me." Izzy twisted the cord of her ear buds, shrugging in reply. "Ana would worry and she doesn’t need the added stress with her wedding and all. And Beatrice…" She scoffed. "Beatrice would probably think I was doing something stupid and say I deserved it. She isn’t exactly a loving mother."
"I guess so… Ana does seem to be stressed out - more than usual. Do you think she'll ever decide on which color the Bridesmaid's dresses should be?" She smiled for a second. "You're right about Beatrice… I wish you weren't though. Can you imagine how much our lives would have been different?"
"Shhh!" Izzy lowered her voice. "Beatrice and Ana don’t know about it." She shrugged. "I got attacked by a flock of birds in the park a few days ago. I ended up with a nasty gash on my palm and had to get stitches. Beatrice and Ana don’t know about it though, so don’t say anything about it!"
Elena looked around, then leaned in while Izzy told her what had happened. "You had to get stitches?! That's awful. The birds in this town are vicious." She shook her head, and sat down next to her stepsister. "I won't tell what happened, I promise. But... why don't you want them to know?"
"Hm. I guess I can’t blame you too much. I was laying down on the grass." Izzy looked over her bandaged hand. "At least you didn’t step on me…"
"I'm not that clumsy. I'm really sorry though- Izzy! What happened to your hand?!"
