Sebastian Michaelis is a character that means more to me than he has any right to, lolol, and this piece was like meeting up with an old friend.

From The Man of Steel Issue 3, 1986, written and drawn by John Byrne.

As I’ve said in my earlier post, I’ve been getting into a lot more Superman lately, starting with reading the John Byrne run from the mid eighties. In issue three, they retell how Batman and Superman first met, and there were so many cute moments in this story that I really wanted to redraw them from my own interpretation. I do plan to make this story canon one way or another when I show more of my interpretation of Batman and his mythology.

The story of issue three, One Night in Gotham City, may not be the best written, but I think it’s a solid way to have the reinterpret how the World’s Finest first met and grew such a respect for each other. I hope you guys enjoy. Maybe I’ll redraw more of John Byrne’s awesome art from this story. Let me know if you guys would be interested in that.

And yes I got lazy and traced the background. All credit goes to John Byrne for the lovely buildings, not me.

Short story: I love Waluigi.

Long story: I've been playing Mario Kart on the ye olde Wii with my siblings almost every night for the last week, which has reignited my love for Waluigi (and Bowser, but we aren't talking about him right now). I wanted to draw him a few days ago and fully expected to do one of his usual "Nyeh, I'm a crook," poses... but then there was T H I S pose. And, you know. It was mandatory at that point.
