I've always called that feature an "evolving chorus', but I think that more refers to the chorus getting longer after each repetition, or a lone prechorus that fakes you out, like in Till My Head Falls Off or AKA Driver respectively. 

This person on Reddit brought up a term Pat Pattinson uses, called "recoloring the chorus", in which the verses gradually change the meaning of the chorus as the song progresses, or when changes in the words of the chorus (subtle or not), like in pronouns, occur. I believe this would apply to Never Knew Love and I've Got A Match, like you mentioned.

I really like the idea of objects being born from eggs, especially in the context of II, because it means that Fan genuinely believed that the baby shimmer was just an unhatched object baby that was abandoned on Mars, it also means that if Fan and Test Tube were to have an actual child, they would have to re-experience all the Egg stuff from season 2 all over again.
