“you do have a pretty big mouth.” she teases him gently as they continued to walk around to try and find him something delicious to eat that wouldn’t make him sick. slade was a good friend of hana’s, and he came to be a good friend of mack’s also. she was loyal to those that were loyal to her girl. the ones that respected her. slade respected hana in a lot of ways, and that’s what made him good in her books. there was a laugh that passed through her lips, knowing hana just threw her phone wherever it landed, and never for a second went to grab it, especially when mack was already there. “alright, i’ll try. but if she is in debate class, i won’t get a pick up either.” and mack wasn’t going to call her while she was in class, she didn’t want to worry her girl over a phone call. there was that kiss to the top of her head, and her lips met the center of his chest.
seeing the sign that he pointed at, she let out a breathe, seeing that it wasn’t something that they should even walk in. there was a soft smile upon her face as she looked up at him, her hand flexing on his hip. “i know.” she breathes out softly, a gentle shake of her head. “we’ll find you something good to eat here, i promise. worst case, we just order online the food you need if we can’t get the food you need.” yes, because that sentence was a sentence that made sense. hearing his question, her feet stopped and guided him over the road, knowing exactly where whole foods was. “you’re a genius, slade.” she breathes out to him. “you know i have yogurt, that is organic right? you could have some of that.” she would always be willing to share with him. she had plenty of yogurt, but of course he might want more than just that, so it was why they were walking now to find whole foods. her footsteps paused when he told her to pause, watching as he pulled out his phone. it would be quicker than just walking all over the show really. she dropped her hand from his hip while he was looking onto his phone for the place, and she smiled hearing his words. “oh are you now? you might as well just drop out of college and go your way into baking.” she breathes out to him. his next words had her frowning, not really sure what he was meaning but she was nodding her head anyway. “yes. i try hana daily, and she is the best dessert i could ever ask for.” she whispers, a cheeky grin on her own face. “slade, you handsome devil. i have no idea what you’re talking about.”
he was watching his options. and passing up what those options were offering. baskin robins was a joke. dairy queen he was certain was just someone's revenge at their parents. watch me do something with my life. and then dairy queen was born. hana never answered the phone when he tried, not that he tried often. they always bumped into each other when the timing of the universe aligned in the perfect way. "you would know best there." he says, because hana didn't pick up the phone when he called, or messaged, and he..well, he did not call or message. he had already been over this. "debate is a dangerous club for her to be." dangerous and smart. he could see why she thrived in it.
"that depends on the yogurt." he says, but he knew there would be a whole foods here and he was looking at his phone to locate one. "soy based, almond based, then yes." obviously organic was a different category from vegan and the two had little to do with one another. he wasn't even vegan, he was experimenting with it, but he was trying to avoid dairy as he had his whole life. slade looked over at her and frowned. "the point of this was to get you ice cream too." he reminds her. he'd had his, and he needed to find better, but he also did not want to give mack the half-eaten one. his phone told him that whole foods was two blocks away which was reasonable and made him feel better. even with his smile she didn't know what he was talking about, not about hana, he did not comment there because he only commented there in the bedroom, but... "i made a croquembouche and succeeded. it's a golden tower of choux pastry and caramel threading." it was traditionally served at weddings, first communions and baptisms but, it turned out well regardless of the occasion. which, there was not one.
