The blonde rolled her eyes at him, then swiftly dug her elbow in below his ribs with little restraint. âIf that doesnât satisfy you, Iâll aim lower next time. Though, Iâm not sure Iâll be able to find such a small target.â It was easy to fall into the old routine with him, even if her heart wasnât completely in it. But, still, the distraction was a life raft and Marlene was determined to get on. Even if only for the evening. âBlack, we both know that Iâm not only better than you, but Iâm better looking, too.â She retorted and then bit back the urge to tell him the purist scum heâd grown up with were no more his family than they were hers. Because how could the notorious Blacks have any claim to the wizard before her? They werenât worth the dung in his boot treads. âTheyâre definitely over due for a visit from me. Iâm sure my invitation to tea has just been lost in the post.â
âGetting soft, and compulsively lying.â Sirius tsked. âVery disappointed in you.â He smirked at the other. âListen up, Mckinnon. I can understand you lying about being better than me but I draw the line at better looking. What is this madness.â He rolled his eyes rather dramatically before shrugging his shoulders. âI wish I could poison their tea.â he grumbled. âBut I have been hearing things at the Order, wonât be hard to convince Dumbledore to give us an actual mission. Iâm itching to curse some of those assholes who deserve it.â
