Disney announced their new project called "Wish" featuring an afro latina protagonist named Asha
She's pretty, but yall this is just Isabela
Disney, if this is still concept art then please give her a different color pallet. Or silhouette
Maybe give her an afro? A short afro hairstyle? Or put beads in her hair? Something
Why ? I'm confused like why ?
Disney has a bunch of blond blue eye blue palette girlies but two dark-skinned purple girls are too much ???
The darker skinned and purple girls have all unique design to them so its not like there's a pattern
A color does not belong to one character and dark skin characters can have similar palette to each other, its not a crime. Also I would love an afro but lets not pretend there's an abundance of disney princess character with braids. The hair is not even the same since protective hairstyle =/= straight hair.
You know good and well no one was implying that protective hairstyles are just to mimic straight hair. Literally have my hair in a protective style right now
I even added in the end that Asha should have beads, or some sort of hair accessory to her braids if needed. Something to break her apart from the Isabela mold
These are also protective styles, but they all look different in length or design. Some include both afros and braids
So if all that is out of the way, let's talk about the white princesses. All the white blonde princesses you showed have varying different designs. Aurora and Alice may have the closest hairstyle, but that is broken up when looking at Aurora's pointed tiara and Alice's soft little bow sitting ontop of their heads
What does that mean? It means if you black them out, you are going to recognize each character's silhouette. You can easily distinguish between Cinderella and Elsa
Isabela and Asha though? If you black them out, the only thing that could give them away is their pose. But if it's a very simple pose, or if you have Asha dancing whimsically as well, then you are going to have a much harder time telling these two apart
Asha is fully colored here, and you already got people asking "Isabela?" not knowing the context that she is a new princess. You are not going to get that confusion if you throw in Rapunzel, because while she has a slim purple dress too, her very VERY long hair gives her an entirely different shape between these two
This is why I said give her a different color pallet OR (emphasis on the or) silhouette. Meaning Asha could still be purple, but please give her something to separate her design from Isabela
