Whenever I am not attached to my phone or another screen (which is quite rare-) I'm probably drawing. I have also started getting into bead works and embroidery through crafting cosplays. I have also picked up some bobbin lace just for fun.
Not my usual post, but I find it kind of interesting that genshin "reversified" the commedia dell arte characters in a sense.
For example, Tartaglia is actually an old man with a really bad stutter and unfit body wearing lots of green. Our Tartaglia is the youngest of the Fatui Harbingers, and he's described as charming. His codename "Childe" likely references the fact that he's still a bit young and immature.
Signora was in some versions a prostitute. She's still haughty like our Signora, but Rosalyn became the crimson witch of flames due to her grief and was likely very loyal to Rostam. Her codename "fair lady" likely refers to the loyalty to Rostam, being "fair" to her only lover. Commedia Signora is also described to pick fights with other women, but Rosalyn often attended the tea parties.
Sandrone was sometimes described as naive, and he was the husband and his wife Pulonia. We all know our Sandrone is the Marionette and the giant Mecha is her robot, and she's most certainly not naive. Commedia Sandrone is described as an advocate for the poor but genshin Sandrone is literally a colonizer.
Scaramouche is a background character/stock character who's often described as a cowardly servant. He's also described to be a womanizer. Wanderer is a VERY prominent character in the lore, and he's literally royalty (Raiden created him). He's also not a coward since he handled going to the abyss and being experimented on so many times. Womanizer? Bro he just straight up doesn't talk to people unless he's close with them, and even then he's snarky.
Harlequin is mischievous, wears extremely colorful clothing, chasing after Columbina, and serving people like Pantalone or Dottore. Arlecchino on the other hand is serious, wears muted colors, doesn't exactly chase after her but cares for her as a friend, and she absolutely despises Dottore.
Columbine was described as incredibly witty, intelligent and her independence, often being the only smart person on stage. She also often wore really bright colors and was described as a servant. Genshin Columbina followed her code name "damselette" to a T. Her outfit is a monochrome blue, and while genshin Columbina is smart, she's not cynical like the commedia Columbina and is actually really down to earth.
Dottore is described as very wealthy, and pretends to be an expert in many subjects by talking constantly yet having no idea on what he's talking about. Zandik requires funding from Pantalone and he's most certainly intelligent as he got into the Akademiya and conducted so many experiments and understands the fundamental concepts of Teyvat really well.
Capitano was a cowardly soldier who was extremely pompous and kept bragging about fake military achievements. He usually flees at the sign of actual danger. Thrain however, is a very honorable person and we keep seeing and hearing about people commending the Captain's nobility.
Idk enough about the three P's (pantalone, pulcinella and Pierro) enough to talk about them yet. I've seen an Ashikai theory where she says that the reason why the harbingers are named after characters of a play was to mock Celestia since Genshin was heavily implied to be stuck in a time loop and to be set on a sort of pseudo stage and I guess it sort of explains why the commedia and game personalities are so different.
