RWBY fan media where the characters use "Oum" or "Dust" or whatever instead of "God" is both so funny (not haha funny, absurd funny) and mildly annoying to me. Like, what if Harry Potter characters were saying "Thank Rowling, blah blah" or something. Or if we went around saying "What in the name of electricity are you doing?"
Does it not sound silly, when you read it? Do you not feel weird reading "Dust, if only I didn't do that"
The "Oum" one doesn't bother me as much, but there are actual gods in the RWBY universe, and if you're thinking "well most of the world doesn't know about them because they don't know the origins of Salem and all that" you're actually wrong. The story of the Two Brothers is a well known fairy tale in Remnant, to the point where we've heard at least one character (I think it was Clover towards the end of Volume 7) use "Brothers" as an expletive like saying "God"
When you 500 all over the place during the condifiction stream
Only time Vine has ever used his weapon and his misses. Bet you didn’t even know he had one, this is the only time he ever takes it out, then he kinda just stands around with it for a bit
Hear me out, Misery Business by Paramore, but it’s Summer being an absolute bitch to Raven about stealing her man
(Almost) finished on the redesign of Raven’s sword. I’ve decided that this one is a precursor to Omen called Augury, and that she switches to Omen when she decides to leave Tai and go back to the Branwen Tribe. I didn’t finish the engravings, but the idea is there so it’s good enough for now. I’ve already started working on Summer’s weapon as well and it’s pretty cool
Was watching the Blake vs. Adam fight in volume 6 and I just noticed she uses her sheath to take his sword. She has it for a solid 10-20 seconds.
Redesigning Raven’s sword for an AU. It always bothered me that she was one of the few characters with dust always in their weapon, and multiple types at that, but she never uses them! Even in her fight with Cinder at the end of V5, the different color blades aren’t DOING anything, they’re just visually interesting I guess.
Also, each blade is meant to represent a promise to protect/fight for someone she loves and she adds a longer blade every time, so of course, the first one is for Qrow, the next one is for the Branwen tribe, then Tai, then Summer… and there’s an extra one, so probably I need to take that off, or I’ll make it for Yang. The very bottom one is empty because it’s just to channel the dust to the rest of the blade.
Also, I was going to do wind as pale green and ice as white, but I like the look of the dark blue with the other colors.
Triple also, if anyone has ideas for Tai’s semblance or weapon let me know, because I have not figured that out yet. I think I want to give Summer a glaive because I think that’s cool and I’m not a fan of her axe.
Does anyone else feel like Lunadeyis and Aster are really just gay lovers solely because it mirrors Lizzie and Ava so well? Is that just me?
