Very often, it seems that whatever person the internet mob has set their sights on is just some person that has made some mistakes or shitty decisions that are not anything out of the ordinary in the grand scheme of things, but because their life was broadcast to billions of people, posters feel permitted to take their anger at the world out on a "valid" person, someone it's okay for them to bully. An understandable impulse, but a deplorable one.
saw my buddy who's been a hat warrior since his early 20s without a hat for the first time because he had finally shaved that shit off
it was just like this
Trying to keep this short, but I have several surgeries coming up, and a PET scan which will tell me if i have cancer. They're thinking i have lymphoma. Below is some of the paperwork from my oncologist with personal info redacted. I need s lot of help to ensure I can have surgery and be prepared for chemo if thats my next step, bc if it is, I won't have much time to prepare.

No updates aside from the fact that my surgeon didn't wanna do the biopsy now that I have a PET scan scheduled. She said the PET scan will be more definitive than the biopsy, as biopsies are often negative with lymphoma anyways. This is all still urgent and progress has stopped.
i bet there were guys in the 1800s who were super fucking Reddit about everything, but no one had the right word yet for why those guys were so annoying. so they just had to wonder
Der lästige Kavalier (The Annoying Gentleman), by Berthold Woltze, 1874.
please behold the 24 Hours of Lemons race, in which you can only spend $500 total on a car to cross country race for 24 hours
named after the legendary 24 hour Le Mans race, Lemons rallies barely legal cars in an endurance race across America. had the privilege of sharing the freeway with this race and seeing the absolute art od this event
This is so American I could CRY
oh this is nothing. some of my favorite lemons entries are:
an airplane stuck on a toyota minivan
this miata built by rocket scientists
the mr2 boat
the nyan cat bmw that i think actually played the song at all times
the homer simpson car built by uranium workers
this limo whose brakes caught on fire
the dumbest corolla and supra wearing funny hats
and so much more. 24 hours of lemons my beloved

the thing about getting the world changed for the better is you gotta learn how to make your ideas sound appealing and positive to people who might not agree otherwise.
But on the internet people describe their ideas in the most shocking and extreme way possible as a way of sifting out people who are "really" on their side
That is bad for forming a movement or sparking any kind of action
it's gotten so outrageous that people will have an idea like "we should have a strong public transportation system that is accessible to everyone" but they will express it like "FUCK CARS! WE SHOULD BAN CARS! IF YOU LIKE TO DRIVE YOU'RE A FASCIST! NO ONE NEEDS A CAR!"
This causes everyone to get into arguments about whether it is true that no one needs a car, and whether banning cars would make places inaccessible for people with certain disabilities.
The whole time we don't need to "ban cars" to have public transportation and it makes no sense why we are talking about it
We're never going to get accessible public transportation like this.
Team Algae has scored another goal.
The Gibson family has taken thousands of striking shipwreck photos, from the late 1870’s through the 1970s. See more of these amazing photos here.
one of my favorite photos every time i see it i start laughing so hard i break into a coughing fit
One time I came home from uni very upset and my younger siblings asked what's wrong. I said that mutated flies in our lab escaped because someone broke their jar. I didn't even realise how scary it sounded to them until I saw their faces lmao. I was upset because we were short on said flies (they don't reproduce very well) and my siblings thought that some crazy radioactive fly monsters escaped and we are all fucked now. Love being a mad scientist in their eyes lowkey
me when i like the 2-3h movie: directors should never have to compromise their vision to appeal to something as fickle as people's "patience". anyone complaining about the movie's length is simply a tiktok-addicted philistine.
me when i don't like the 2-3h movie: once i become god emperor of earth anyone trying to make a movie longer than 90 minutes will be shot.
The scene where Gen. Turgidson trips and falls in the War Room, and then gets back up and resumes talking as if nothing happened, really was an accident. Stanley Kubrick mistakenly thought that it was George C. Scott really in character, so he left it in the film.
