Boys, protect girls. Call people out when they make offensive jokes. Stand up to those who treat girls like objects. Walk a girl home if she feels unsafe. Listen to them and be considerate of their feelings. Destroy that myth that women are inferior.
Girls, protect boys. Call people out when they make fun of a boy for showing emotion. Stand up to those who tell boys to ‘man up.’ Support boys who enjoy feminine things. Destroy the myth that men can’t be victims and that women can’t be predators.
Boys, protect boys. Protect your bros from violent relationships. Comfort your bros when they need somebody. Stand up for your bros who are ridiculed for not wanting/liking sex. Destroy the myth that two men can’t be close without it being “gay.”
Girls, protect girls. Defend sisters who enjoy having sex. Stand up to those who define sisters for what they wear. Don’t judge your sister’s worth from how many boyfriend’s she’s had. Destroy the myth that girls have to constantly compete with each other.
Protect everyone from the patriarchy.
Hallelujah.
Fucking important. Idc.
you are not obligated to
be someone’s counselor and help them with all their problems if its bad for your mental health
be there for someone 24/7
remain friends with someone who emotionally drains you
maintain negative relationships because you’ve been close for so long, because you’re related, or anything else
do anything that makes you unhappy or puts your health at risk
Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan announced on Facebook today that they’re expecting. The exuberant responses were to be expected. Zuckerberg is, of course, one of the world’s most high-profile CEOs,
But the media forgot to ask the most important question! Can Zuck have it all?! … Oh, he can? Talk about a double standard.
Do you mind giving us signs of a girl with internalized misogyny?
“I’m not like THOSE girls I READ BOOKS”“I’m only friends with guys because girls are all DRAMA”“I don’t wear makeup because I’m natural and not FAKE like those girls”“She has daddy issues”“Look at what she’s wearing/her makeup/her hair/her body (insert criticism of a stranger purely based on physical attributes)”“Watch out for that girl, she FRIENDZONES everyone”“That girl has slept with everyone I bet and has STDs”“I do pole dancing, but it’s TOTALLY different than being a stripper, I’m classy”“I’m one of the guys”“I’m not a feminist, I don’t hate men”“I want a gay best friend! Lesbians? Ew don’t hit on me”
So many people, myself included, grow up with this attitude. Practice aggressive girl support! Different is not lesser.
As a cis-male, how do I support the feminist movement without making it about myself/men, speaking over the voices that the movement seeks to uplift, and make a change within my community without taking ownership of the movement itself?
Check out my feminist ally and male feminist tags for posts about how to, and how not to, be a good ally, respectively. If you have more questions after that, feel free to ask. xoxox
“Be a good ally” sounds like some Orwellian terminology. Remember to be a good ally, comrade. Don’t forget the double think, “egalitarianism is a men’s rights project, feminism is a human’s rights project.” Just ignore the definitions of those words. And facts.
Sure, I imagine to someone whose reaction to other people’s suffering is indifference and annoyance, allyship and empathy is equatable to fascism.
imagine being so fucking boring that you have to turn basic human empathy into some Orwellian dystopia analogy in order to seem interesting
If you’re a guy who likes looking at pictures of naked girls but loses respect for a girl if she posts a naked picture of herself, you can get lost
How many times can I reblog this
never enough
I can never find a “male positivity” post that doesn’t have shit like “FINALLY someone understands that this isn’t just for WOMEN” or “FINALLY one that isn’t for WOMEN” attached to the end.
Like yall really can’t uplift yourselves without taking a shot at women huh
No…it’s just most body positivity/gender positivity posts on this website are about women so it’s nice when we find one about men. That’s not “taking a shot at women”
No its taking a shot at women. You’re missing the framework. Its never “Men get raped” its “men get raped too so shut up women”. Its never “ we should build DV shelters/get sexual assault counseling for men” its “women didn’t do it for us, yes I’m ignoring the evidence that they actually have so rargh fuck Feminism”.
And now, women are again to blame and or levied against the lack of body positive posts for men, its now shaming women and society for them not existing before.
Point is, literally every women’s issue….which generally only women care about is constantly shook down, knocked over, shat on and competed with by men who never got the idea that they could, i dunno, get together and do it themselves. And even under any problem men have once you step outside of that arena everything is back to being catered to you.
Those who totally have the right to say finally: trans people, disabled people.
So when you blast out YAY NOT JUST FOR WOMEN US TOO its pretty close to the shit above and its really fucking annoying.
Men are raped should be a complete sentence. Body positivity should be a complete sentence.
Its that simple. But folks are incapable of not communicating that simple but blatant message underneath it all: “ So what if we never did it for you and never will. Its your job to do it for us.”

i want men to be able to emotionally connect with people they don’t plan on having sex with. i want men to stop assuming i am planning on having sex with them because i make an effort to engage with them emotionally. i want men to stop feeling personally betrayed by the fact that i engage deeply & genuinely with people regardless of whether i desire them sexually, because i value people & seek to understand & connect with them regardless of sexual attraction
Maybe I’m being reactive, but this sounds naive. Most people, male or female, lack “deep and genuine emotional connections” in their lives. I’m not talking about “hey are you ok” surface level interactions, I wouldn’t want those blown out of proportion either. But seeking to create deep emotional bonds is a form of intimacy, that can unlock all kinds of other feelings. To pretend like you don’t understand the mixed messages you’re probably sending seems strange, and perhaps a bit selfish. People put up emotional walls for a reason, so breaking them down just for your own curiosity, seems like mess for no reason.
“Most people lack deep and genuinely emotional connections”
“Seeking to create deep emotional bonds is a form of intimacy”
The just reward for good women who do the right thing and save sex for a husband only: Pregnancy!! Children!! Motherhood!!
The just punishment for bad women who do the wrong thing and have sex for themselves: Pregnancy!! Children!! Motherhood!!

“We want the museum to understand that the moai are our family, not just rocks. For us [the statue] is a brother; but for them it is a souvenir or an attraction,” said Anakena Manutomatoma, who serves on the island’s development commission. “Once eyes are added to the statues, an energy is breathed into the moai and they become the living embodiment of ancestors whose role is to protect us.”
isnt the point of a museum to preserve history though? id prefer something be in a controlled environment than outside in the elements.
The moai have been standing JUST fine in the open in the island for literal centuries. Believe it or not, the Rapa Nui are NOT stupid; they know their island, how to live in it, and what materials and treatment to those materials do or do not last in the island they’ve called their home for ages. The moai are MADE to be “outside in the elements”.
And preserved for whom? I’m sure my ancestors wouldn’t feel it’s preservation to have a LIVING piece of their culture stolen by colonizers and kept away from them all this fucking long when I assure you, no one asked for their permission to take it in the first place.
That’s not fucking “preserving”, that’s just fucking stealing, and a loss of culture for the Rapa Nui.
I’m gonna steal the Mona Lisa, the Statue of Liberty, Queen Elizabeth’s crown, the stained glass pieces of Notre Dame, a sculpture by Michelangelo, keep ‘em in my house, charge white people for even just distantly looking at them, and call it preserving history.
Pornhub’s entire business model revolves around stealing content made by sex workers without their consent and profiting off it with no compensation to the workers who generate the content they steal. Sex workers are an incredibly vulnerable and stigmatised class of workers, mostly women, mostly younger, mostly not rich, with little recourse, socially or legally, against a massive corporation like Pornhub.
Pornhub relies on this, on how little you care about sex workers, to maintain a business based on stealing their livelihoods. Stop applauding a corporation that literally exists to steal from marginalised workers just because they have a competent PR department.
Fucking thank you
I’m not defending them but isn’t that true of all porn sites?
Yes.
This is going around again because Pornhub have apparently been billing themselves as an alternative to Tumblr for artists and sex workers and it was made originally because as they say, Pornhub has a very clever PR department (I’m thinking in particular of the snow plowing stunt last year) and people have a tendency to fall for it.
Pornhub pays 69 cents per 1k views while Youtube pays $7.60 for the same amount of traffic.
If someone steals your porn and uploads it, Pornhub requires that you doxx yourself to the uploader.
^^^^ Yep! Said it before, will say it again, and have been needing to remind people pretty often because it apparently takes nothing for y'all to forget that corporations don’t care about you (since people have been all starry eyed about their new BFF Pornhub): THIS IS HOW IT WORKS: When a performer discovers their reuploaded content, they must file a DMCA req to get it pulled down. This involves two main parts. 1. Their formal statement is required to *prove* they are indeed the owner fo the content, and therefore have the right to state it was not intended for redistribution. 2. To prove this, they must submit their LEGAL NAME AND ADDRESS to the site. As part of DMCA law, the site retains the right to DISCLOSE OUR NAME AND ADDRESS to the uploader, as part of informing them who has made a claim against the upload. (Because of the frightening implications of giving my name and address to a porn site that can make the info available to a pirate, I have paid THOUSANDS in legal fees to incorporate in order to keep my info private. It was very expensive and absolutely not available to most performers, and for years I did not have this option available and had to continue doxxing myself to fucking pornsites) NOTE!!! At NO POINT are the uploaders asked to provide legal proof of clip ownership, nor are they required to submit their name and address. Sites NEVER ask pirates to prove anything is theirs aside perhaps from ticking a check box. Pirates are hard to fight because sites do next to nothing to discourage them. Why? Because they make their money off of traffic, and all income is good income to them. They don’t care. Be better than them. Tubesites are not friends to artists and fair warning, artists that think Pornhub will be a great place for them will find that out when their shit starts getting reposted.
