Grad Jobs
So Grade jobs seem to be the main way that people get into jobs after uni.Ā
Some of my friends are applying to lots of random ones. Big banks, corporate firms, firms which I donāt think they even know what they do. A lot of genuinely are interested in that field, so for them applying there, it makes total sense and I couldnāt be happier for them when they get the job.Ā
But I canāt help but get the feeling that a lot of them are like me. They are applying there because they donāt know what else to do, but truly, they really donāt want to be working there.Ā
As I already said, I love making videos. I love making entertaining content and then seeing peopleās reaction. So for me, production made sense. Only thing is, (especially as far as my parents are concerned), thatās like saying I want to be a rockstar or an astronaut.Ā
I get that itās extremely difficult, but if you believe in yourself, then why not pursue it? There are only two graduate schemes that I have found that are available, this being on Channel 4, and Shine TV. Of course I will apply for these, but it may mean taking a risk and doing something a bit less snazzy first, like being a runner.
I have no problem with this. Learn the trade, get experience, earn a bit of money. I have no problem where I work in production as long as there is always the opportunity to climb higher. Thatās the key to motivation I think.Ā
You always here the term DEAD END JOB. You may say Iām young and naive, but as long as there is always something to aim for above where I am, how can you end up in a dead end job?Ā
Anyway, until next time where the real stuff happens.

How to decide what to do after graduation?
As if graduation is coming? Literally 5 minutes ago, I swear I was this fresher kid pulling up to uni for the first time ever looking forward to spending the next few years getting pissed and attempting to chat to girls.Ā
Fast forward four years later, and Iām about to graduate, with absolutely NO CLUE what Iām going to do with my life.Ā
I did International Relations and Economics. Usually when I tell people this (mainly my parents friends), they proceed to ask me what I think of Jeremy Corbyn, or whether I think Britain should leave the EU. My usual answer is āermmm, I canāt say Iāve read too much about it, but Iāll agree with whatever you sayā. In reality, politics is far from my passion.Ā
You know how you get some of those people in school you are likeĀ āI donāt know what subject to take, thereās so much to choose from!ā. Well I was the opposite to those lucky ones. I didnāt have a clue what to do, so I just went for it and took what looked like a nice, general, not too difficult course. To be fair, it has met all my expectations. It has been a nice and easy ride. But now I have no think what I ACTUALLY want to do, and I have no clue!Ā
All my friends are looking for jobs, mostly in banks or big corporate firms. But quite frankly, I canāt think of anything worse than sitting behind a desk all day sorting out stuff I donāt care about.Ā
I do have this little dream, which is to get into film. Not being a superstar actor, but the production side of things. I just love making videos. So that is what I plan on finding even if it kills me and my parents kick me out or start making me pay rent.Ā
Iām going to carry on this blog as I go along putting in my thoughts and progress. So if this even slightly relates to you or youāre not sure what to do with life, follow me, and you may just get some tips ;)
