I think this is what drove Korn to make such a blatantly criminal act and abduct her. He lost his power over her and he needed to get it back. That's all there is to it, an abuser cares about his power, the moment Wine wasn't afraid of him anymore he needed to act drastically to regain that control.
I appreciate how realistic the show was portraying this dynamic and how explosive it could get. They went so far as to show that hadn't Lal stopped them, Korn would've raped Wine for sure. It's horrifying but realistic. And I'm glad they didn't shy away from it. It's an important issue to highlight.
The show truly highlighted a myriad of women's problems and how those problems are oftentimes ignored by society. I'm glad that gls lately have been touching on these difficult subjects. As did Girl Rules with exploitation in the modeling industry. As did Us with the trauma that comes with being secret children born from affairs, and how parental expectations can cause major psychological issues.
