I get so pissed when people say this. The education system was literally created by and for men. Women weren’t allowed to get an education for hundreds of years. In movies, it is also valued if a girl can be hyper feminine, wear dresses, high heels and make up, while also being able to ditch all that and go hiking in boots. She shouldn’t complain, or be afraid of bugs or anything. That way, she’s the cool girl.

I long wondered how it could be that it’s desirable to be a certain way (feminine) and at the same time to also be something opposite (not caring about the dirt, hair or fashion). Until someone on here said the reason: it is valued for a girl to be convenient.

She is simply that, which is the best for the guy in the moment. She’s feminine, wearing impractical clothes, when she is to be admired, and she doesn’t care about appearance when she is to do something interesting with her boyfriend. She doesn’t have her own preferences. She doesn’t have complaints. Ideally, she is not a person.

Yes, we should definitely critique both, but let's not pretend they're the same. Not wearing one is going to get you killed while not wearing the other might simply not get males to pay attention to you.
