IVE BEEN HANGING OUT WITH MY FRIEND FOR LIKE A YEAR NOW AND IT TURNS OUT WE KNEW EACH OTHER AND WERE FRIENDS WITH EACH OTHER PRETRANSITION
we weâre talking about how we had a mutual friend and how that was so wild and then they mentioned another friend i knew and i was like âyeah i played soccer with them both in the parkâ and my friend was like âwait does your deadname start with a Câ and it turns out she was also there and we just had no idea who each other was this entire time till now
This is fucking wild
This is half a plot for a modern Shakespearean comedy of errors.
Romcom where two people meet cute and bond over how awful their exes were and plan elaborate revenge schemes but it turns out they both transitioned and are helping to plan revenge plots against themselves
im so excited for more star fox!!
lets be perverts together đ«Ž
listen i'm not advocating for exotic animals as pets, but i really just feel like cheetahs are probably different
i feel like we need to give them another shot as housebeasts
this is a critter who wants greenies and then to take a nap on the couch next to me, and i KNOW it
cheetah in House perfec t size for put inside! inside very Soft and Comfort cheetah sleep soundly put cheetah in House. Put Cheetah In House. no problems ever in cheetah in ho use because good Happy and Satisfy for human where sleep. House yes a place for a cheetah put cheetah in house can trust cheetah for giveing good love to humans in house. friend cheetah
I mean, as someone who as worked in a zoo, this is fairly true.
Obvious disclaimer that you shouldn't have wild animals as pets.
But like, cheetahs are the only large cats that keepers will do free contact with. Hell, even most small cats don't get free contact. (Because small cats can be VICIOUS. They'll have a baby pallas cat wearing thicker gloves than when handling an owl. Because small cats can just be vicious.)
Like I think the only other cat at our zoo where I've seen free contact with was servals? Because I know they've used servals in shows to demonstrate their natural jumping ability. But I know servals can sometimes have a mean temper as well. Meanwhile they'll do the cheetah run and afterwards put the mic by the cheetahs and it's just like an engine with them purring. It's fascinating to watch when the message in every other large animal is "no free contact because it's dangerous even when they're born in captivity".
Legit if any wild animal could be adapted to a pet it would be cheetahs lmao. Only problem is they can be skittish and very anxious and that's why they're often raised around dogs in zoos to gain confidence.
congrats, i award you funniest take on this post
Cats being mimics.
I remember being a little surprised when I learned that domestic cats have some of the widest vocal range of any small carnivore, WAY more so than dogs. But the thing is that most cat owners are only ever going to hear the relatively small range/vocal repertoire that their specific cat has developed to specifically communicate with them. The more you observe other cats -- especially, when those cats don't think they're being observed or are not trying to communicate with humans at all -- you realize that yeah, they really are the voiceboxes of the small mammalian world.

will never not be mad about gig economy apps making a 4 star rating mean âunacceptable qualityâ
Doordash will suspend you below 4.2 stars.
Uber drivers can be suspended at 4.6 stars.
Lyft drivers risk suspension under 4.8 stars.
Even for apps where they donât have a publicly stated minimum, their algorithms will bury you.
4 stars does not mean 4 stars. It means 1.4 stars.
If you give a person a 4 star rating, to these companies, you are not saying âI was mostly satisfied with the service, but thereâs always room for improvementââwhich is what 4 stars should meanâyou are voting for them to be fired.
Genuinely, do not ever give people 4 star ratings on gig service apps for any reason that is not a safety issue where their continuation on the app could seriously hurt people.
If someone gives you âjust OKâ service where you donât want to give them 5 stars, but you donât actively hate their existence and hope they die, just donât rate them.
I'd like to add (and I hope OP doesn't mind me piggybacking on their post) this applies to a lot of other things too.
I'm a teacher, and every year, the State sends out a "climate" survey to all students, parents, and teachers. It has a 1-5 scale and a 'not applicable' option. If you select 4 or 'not applicable' it's marked against the school.
For example, I'm a virtual teacher. The climate survey has questions about the safety and cleanliness of the halls and bathrooms in the school. A normal person would assume that, if they attend a virtual school, they should use the 'not applicable' option, since their school has no halls or bathrooms. Nope, if they select anything but 5 out of 5, our school gets marked down.
Its not just delivery apps that are rigged like this. Keep this in mind. Assume any survey is rigged like this.
The part of this that truly infuriates me is how it intersects with performance reviews. Like, yeah itâs totally unsustainable and horrific that these client/customer/public facing surveys need to be kept near perfect. But meanwhile, on your performance reviews, you better not rate yourself much above a 3. I had a manager once tell me that there should basically be only one person in the district who got a 5 on a metric. That someone getting all 5s was impossible, theyâd practically be the second coming of Christ. So, ever since, Iâve been furious at how youâre never supposed to highly value your own work, you know on the bit thatâs supposed to deal with you getting a raise (if anyone gets a raise) but the public is supposed to think you, and by extension the company, are Mary Poppins (practically perfect in every way).
I feel like Battletech should have more games that arenât first and foremost about âMechs. Like, donât get me wrong, they are absolutely integral to the franchise, and it just wouldnât be Battletech without them. But I want to see some games that center on other thingsâthere are still âMechs, and you can fight them or fight alongside them, but you play as jump infantry, almost Titanfall-esque; leaping between buildings, jumping on top of âMechs and planting satchel charges on the cockpit glass, scrambling to get to the next piece of cover before that tank gets its turret around to face you. There would definitely need to be concessions so that you donât die instantly every time something with a machine gun stares at you, but this is Battletech; there are always concessions.
I got into Battletech because of the Harebrained Schemes game, but I stayed with tabletop because of the combined arms aspect. Itâs super cool that this universe, while having âMechs as the stars of the show, still has rules for so many other thingsâand makes those things work as a strategy instead of just being mindless fodder. I really, really wish the video games become the same at some point.
Battletech but Shadow of the Colossus. You are a conventional infantry soldier tackling 50 ton giants with nothing but basic equipment and a want to see tomorrow.
first thing id do as a skeleton is drink red wine from a goblet and have it spill out everywhere . second thing id do is play my ribs like a xylophone

fun fact: the most common word to express something being Not Good in the english language is the word "bad". This word is sourced from the word bĂŠddel, which is a transmisogynistic slur dating back hundreds of years. Its all transmisogyny!!! All of it!!!!! Its transmisogyny all the way down!!! the most concise and common word to express something being negative in the English language is derived from a transmisogynistic slur. what the fucking fuck. how am i not supposed to lose my mind over how fucking pervasive hatred for trans women is and has always been.
okay so "bad" is descended from Old English badde which is popularly linked to bĂŠddel, but that is unlikely. It is most probably a loan from Old Norse *baða, "frightening, trouble", from Proto-Germanic *badÄ "frightening", compare PG *badĆnÄ , "to frighten".
Also, bĂŠddel was specifically used for intersex people, let's not forget our intersex siblings! It was also used as a slur against gay men, much like faggot is today.
in light of current political events
So here in UK politics a bin is about to win a By-Election
just hallucinated only the bottom right panel and started giggling and decided i wanted to find the real thing to laugh about it again. and i couodnt so i had to go into my boyfriends dms and ask them if "do you have truckparts"
gonna be so real i did not realize the bottom was about purchasing and shipping automobile parts. I thought they were straight up intending to kill and dismantle the UPS truck like some auto mechanic apex predator.
