There were so many refreshing aspects of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, but the one that made me literally pause the movie was when, after Chris hands Peter the crumpled printout of the ‘sex tape’ and asks if he’s gonna do anything, he without hesitation yells out to the entire hallway to stop harassing Lara Jean.

Like, no prolonged moment to think it over. No angsty introspection, no waiting to make a grand gesture later on. Just: nah, we’re clearing this up right here, right now, no bullshit. I’m so glad they handled it that way, and made me realize how (unfortunately) surprising it was to see that kind of instantaneous devotion, especially in a high school environment.
