So in the Umbrella Academy show, they changed Elliott Page's character's name after he transitioned publicly? But like, Vanya is already traditionally a dude's name. Why was that necessary?

to be clear here, because it actually does sound transphobic as fuck when I read it now in the wrong tone, I love that they made him a dude. I'm not advocating for Elliot Page to play a woman. I just don't see why a unisex name needed changed to reflect it.

Like so fucking often we discuss doing something together, especially watcingh new movies, and then I find out they did it without me. It's irritating as hell. I'm never waiting for them again.
