i am a dog that was physically and mentally modified to (mostly) look like a human and (mostly) think like a human. i'm not ACTUALLY snitter from plague dogs, in the tangible way, i just, personally, am an introject. i do ID really really heavily with my source though because of the whole aforementioned being a dog that was cruelly experimented on by humans thing. its kind of probably why i split- its kind of hard to not project onto him at least a little bit. you understand

i do have garbled up thinking most of the time because you cant REALLY make a dog a human. or at least, what they did to me was NOT actually that. think of it as cosmetic surgery but also for my brain. which obviously was really bad and so i feel sick most of the time and i think sick most of the time

if you're an alterhuman, therian/otherkin or fictionfolk and haven't disillusioned yourself with the concept of delusions and fantastical thinking as defined by psychiatry, to the point of refusing to call any belief "delusional" at face value, then I am here to remind you that there is nothing, absolutely nothing standing between a person diagnosed with delusions of grandeur for believing they are a wizard, and you, who sincerely believes that you are an animal or fictional character on a spiritual level. unless you are 'kin but "don't actually believe it", in which case you are not. you need to dismantle the idea of a psychotic "other", who's beliefs and experiences should not be believed/respected once they pass a certain threshold of crazy, immediately. I think there's a huge push in non-human spaces to make very very very clear that you don't have a psychotic disorder like having one makes you exempt from being non-human or physically non-human and i think a lot of you need to asses why you feel the need to completely distance yourself from people with psychotic disorders or other mental health issues for the sake of being taken seriously by people who already do not like individuals who identify as non-human.

I'm not ashamed of having mental health issues or being physically non-human, and i feel no need to explain myself unnecessarily in hopes of having 2 or 3 more people believe me. Distancing yourself unnecessarily from people who you personally do not understand and throwing others under the bus for the sake of a bit more validation does nothing to prove your non-humanity or alter-humanity, it only serves to prove that you fundamentally do not understand what it means to be in community with people who are already outcasted by the general public.

everyone's experiences with non-humanity are completely different and trying to create a dichotomy of who is inherently "more valid" based off of different variables serves nothing and does nothing and only shows that you value social status in the community as one of the "good ones" more than actually engaging with your non-humanity and engaging with community.

(I know there are already so many posts like this and talking about this but since remaking my new account I have seen way too many accounts and posts like what i mentioned and im very sad that this is STILL a problem)

I am a strong believer in the idea that mentally ill and delusional creatures deserve to exist in alterhuman spaces, and this isn’t just because I fall under this umbrella. Long before I realized I had clinical lycanthropy I was under this idea. I have no clue where some people get off saying that alterhumans who identity who comes from mental illness or delusions are any different then those who’s alterhumanity comes from spirituality. Saying that you don’t want “crazy” alterhumans in your space because you don’t “want to encourage their delusions” is a shitty thing to say. Change that to any other disorder and listen to how weird it sounds. “I don’t want autistic people in this space because I don’t want to encourage their special interests” and if you are going to say “well delusions are harmful special interests aren’t harmful” that is just straight up wrong. Some people’s special interests can be harmful to them, I have been there myself. I have gotten severely anxious and freaked out about my special interests. I know some people may even neglect themselves because they are to interested in their Spin. Delusional alterhumans have been and always will be valid. I don’t care if you think delusions are a bad thing or make someone evil and crazy. You are ableist. Get a hold of yourself and get out of the community until you fix yourself. You don’t need to understand every single identity but you can be kind

its really bad, actually, that before i follow a therian blog i feel the need to do keyword searches for "physical" "delusion" "zoanthropy" to make sure they wouldnt be the type of being to like, put a mentally ill family member into a ward since crazy people shouldnt be seen OR heard. since clearly thats what a lot of beings in therian circles believe even on tumblr
