I did Zanka in part 1 but I gave him a Sawk and didn’t give him a render. When I was writing notes about a possible Pokémon AU I wanted a Pokemon that would evolve alongside Zanka and Sawk can’t evolve, but Lucario can, and everyone says Zanka would have a Lucario. Sorry Sawk. But Sawk would still be on his team just not as his ace.

I know i haven’t posted in a LONGG time but i just found this notes app rant from July of this year that i just think is worthy of being on here. God I was SOOO passionate and mad 😭😭 Im not fixing any of the spelling mistakes or (possible?) misinfo.

Rant about the whole Tifa is white thing. This fandom is fucking stupid I swear. Also comparing the outrage people have when you call Aerith white. So first reason why Tifa is Asian and not white:

Her face model is a Japanese woman. Literally Ayumi ito. Secondly, Tetsuya Nomura, literally the designer of nearly every square enix jrpg character past ff7 designed her to appear “eastern” or East Asian. He modeled her after Japanese beauty standards, while modeling Aerith after western beauty standards.

She wears traditional East Asian clothing throughout the franchise. When sneaking into Don corneo’s mansion, one of her outfits is a cheongsam and the other one is a yukata. In Ever Crisis for the new years event she’s seen wearing a kimono. To be fair, Aerith is also wearing a kimono in that event. despite the kimono belonging to Japanese culture that doesn’t mean people of other ethnicities can’t also wear it. So you can’t take this point as neutral if you want. Also in smaller spin of titles Tifa has been seeing multiple other different kimonos then just that.

Now despite all of this, some people still think Tifa is white. Let’s break it down:

People see that Tifa’s from a town called Nibelheim (Germanic name), has a dad that appears to be white, has a white last name, and wears a cowboy outfit. This leads to people claiming that she’s white. However there are multiple reasons why Tifa is still Asian in spite of that. First of all, Asian people can be from towns without Asian origin. Like, immigration exists. Somewhere in traces of two pasts it’s said that Thea or Brian moved into town I believe? For a world as developed as ff7 immigration definitely exists.

Just because tifa’s dad looks white doesn’t mean she’s white. Tifa could be half Asian and half white, as we haven’t seen Tifa’s mom visually ever in ff7. Another option, Tifa could be adopted, or her mom remarried. Just believing she’s white because of this is a very ridge way of viewing family and crap. Just because Thea’s name is Thea and not a typical East Asian name doesn’t make her or Tifa any less Asian. Asian people can have English names. This is also a fictional world without our real life racial constructs.

Now this other reason, the cowboy outfit. It’s stupid. Just because you wear a cowboy outfit doesn’t make you white. In fact, cowboys were mainly indigenous, black, or Mexican and associating cowboys with whiteness mainly comes from the whitewashing of the history of cowboys in western media (they are mainly depicted as white men) so no that clearly doesn’t make her white

Another reason people think Tifa is white is because she never said she was “wutaian”, aka the ff7 stand in for East Asian countries. This belief is heavily rooted in some sort of racism. First of all, a fictional character can look a certain race without explicitly stating that they are that race. For example, Barret is clearly coded to be a black man but has never once stated that he’s black. Obviously he or Tifa is not going to do that because they live in a world where real life constructs of race do not exist. Tifa can’t say she’s Asian, and Barret can’t say he’s black. Cloud can’t say he’s white.

This actually raises a question. Why do you believe poc characters must explicitly state their race in the story for them to not be white? Why are all characters white by default until their race is said. Why can’t they just… exist? But the people who think Tifa is white still think Barret is black, and I believe it’s because his blackness is undeniable because of his skin color is mannerisms, while Tifa’s is more race neutral. This person also mentioned that Tseng is wutaian when nowhere in canon he’s stated to be wutaian or Asian. He’s just coded in an Asian way, and if Tifa is not coded Asian, with all this info… then I don’t know what to do with you.

Still think this is valid but it’s just funny how angry I got that I wrote an essay. I don’t play about Tifa…

Some explanations:

• Sonic is associated with like skate punk? It doesn’t matter kinda sounds like that, that’s why NOFX and Bad Religion are there. Just feels right to me and how Sonic hates oppression

• The “na na na na na na” part of Leave it alone reminds me of this one part of Casino Nights zone

• Jamiroquai is here because the classic sonic music tends to be inspired by disco and funk music, I also threw in some songs that were the origins for some of the classic stage’s songs.

• ignoring what Go by blink-182 is about the “GO! GO! GO!” reminds me of Sonic so much 😭😭

• Now for Egg Man by the beastie boys, there’s NO way this song wasn’t the inspiration for Dr robotnik to be called egg man in the English localization like just listen…

• Incubus reminds me of actual sonic music but I can’t really get an exact nail on why
