Like “hiding behind the sofa because Doctor Who was too scary” is a celebrated cultural phenomenon. The showrunners for the new series gleefully go out of their way to upset and scare small children. Don’t even get me started on Roald Dahl, who I’m 100% certain loathed children and delighted in frightening them for generations.
