It amazes me that after months of anticipation, and having seen them live before, Beirut still managed to be better than I expected. It was a wonderful show, and I hope they come back soon!

In honour of that, and because my blog hasn’t been very active/interesting lately, here’s a picture of Zach Condon covered in...??? I don’t even know, but it was saved on my computer so we’ll just go with it.

I’m watching Beirut’s NPR concert, and here are some thoughts:

- IT’S SO GOOD

- It’s been a year and half since I got into Beirut and that’s weird

- It’s 6 weeks until I see them live again and that’s also weird

- life is weird

- As Needed sounds super cool live and I love it

Was gonna wait til tomorrow to listen to No No No, but then I couldn't sleep (unrelated to the album, but that would also be a valid reason for insomnia!), and then my ipod was all "your preorder's available!" and I figured what the heck let's do this Anywho my sleepy opinion is that it's pretty dang good, well done Beirut! I'm too tired to form any real comments (aside from "guitar??") but it sounds great!

So two new OP shows near me were announced.... why do you do this to me Owen god damn it

Which leads me to some thoughts on the pros and cons of employment: - Pro: earn money to spend on OP shows! * - Con: struggle to find the time to actually attend said shows *obviously doesn’t only apply to OP shows (though let’s be real, he seems to make up 50% of my concert-going these days)

A not-often-considered advantage to life getting hectic: suddenly Beirut’s new album is only a month and a half away!
