present !!
adjusting to elias was . . difficult. a new challenge, a new home to warm up to. it was such a drastic change. something about small towns and their warmth. the same warmth she had been deprived of for quite some time. she was met with quaint introductions as she walked through the streets. various storefronts enticing her, green gardens like the ones back home. it felt like heaven on earth. a safe haven. paradise. maybe this would be it, she believed. this time she’d be allowed to create a home and not be stripped of it.
she met serena in an interaction that felt very much fated. as if they were destined to meet each other, talk to one another, create a bond she hadn’t even known she was capable of sharing. that’s how their roommates situation began. in the day, sorrel would go out job hunting and in the evening she’d come home and clean, cook. do whatever she could to not burden her friend.
elias brought her a lifelong friend, as well as a coincidental meeting with the prince. she’s tentative to call it fate. worrying that she’d curse them both for even thinking about it at such. they met and once again lost themselves in conversation. another friend she felt like she was born to meet.
things had been going too well for her and that only lead to a tugging at her heart. sorrel, usually optimistic and bright, has been tainted with thoughts of her eventual goodbye of the town. it had happened so many times before, who’s to say it wouldn’t again ? she was far away but would that even be enough ? she hopes so. hopes one day she’ll be able to live the life she always dreamed of. surrounded by people she cared for, people who would never abandon her. people she often saw in her dreams.

sorrel remembers meeting the prince behind green-filled gardens. admiring the flowers and occasional wildlife, not really noticing the pair of eyes from afar. a sort of childish wonder came from his arrival. it had been so long since she was able to talk to someone else. actually hold a conversation without anyone really being reprimanded for it. he came and they talked, talked, talked for what felt like hours. about various things. whether it be the weather, new discoveries or things they needed to get off their chests. it felt like she was stuck in a dream. as if for a moment things had gone back to the way she knew them. except as soon as the sun began to set she knew it was time to go back home. things needed to be done and she couldn’t spend the entire day conversing with her newfound friend, a realization that saddened her a bit. still, sorrel held out hope that soon they’d be able to meet again. be able to hear every single thing he had to say.
a feeling she couldn’t really shake off, as if it had settled in her bones and wasn’t ready to let go just yet. having a complete stranger change your perspective on somebody you ultimately respected. someone you cared for. someone who was supposed to care for you in return. she believed her step-mother was keeping her busy with chores to simply spare the maids the trouble, to spare herself the worry of it not being done correctly. sorrel would do whatever she pleased in whatever manner she wanted it done. she was a queen now of course and sorrel knew how tiring the job could. growing up in a household full of important titles and tilted crowns, hearing his father huff and complain in his study but offering her nothing but big smiles and warm hugs as soon as he passed those doors. those same doors that now housed her step-mother. her step-mother who wanted her gone.
and so she met her friends, seven wonderful friends who provided her with shelter. she would often clean for them, help them in anyway to show her gratitude. it was odd how different things were in that tiny cottage compared to her previous home. her warm childhood home turned desolate, cold. she helped them and in return they helped her. cared for her. were ever so grateful for what she had to offer no matter how tiny she felt it was. it cured her . . of many things she hadn’t known she had kept in for so long. the realization that what she felt in that house was warranted, that her cooperation means somethings, that her relationship with her step-mother wasn’t healthy. still, she felt like in someway she was responsible for that as well. as if she could’ve done more to help the relationship from going so sour.
soon she had to be moved to a new location once more. her step-mother had discovered that her plan hadn’t actually worked, that sorrel was out and about somewhere. once again her existence had to be wiped out from her second home. going from warm lit rooms and eight plates on the table, to being ushered out in silence. she knew they were doing so to keep her safe. to keep her away from evils she was exposed to but still didn’t fully understand. just like the prince before, sorrel knew she would meet them again one day. eat a meal with them. repay them for everything.
future !!
whew. i would like for sorrel to . . finally get her happily ever after. be rid of the dark cloud over her head, not worry that at every turn her step-mother would be there waiting to take her away. waiting to take her away from everything she loved. i think as time goes on sorrel will begin to understand the actions of regina and that in itself would be a huge blow for her, for her naivety. it’s all apart of growing up however. she could understand it, sympathize with it but never justify it. that’s the place i want her to be in.
i mean, the girl has abandonment issues. something she would obviously have to work through and deal with. i also want her to understand that being by herself isn’t her being inadequate. that there is strength and beauty in being independent, in the ability of doing things for herself and no one else. that doesn’t make her selfish. that doesn’t make her anything like her step-mother.
she would have to also jump the hurtle that comes with so much being taken from her. like a dog that’s possessive of their food over fear that it’ll be taken away from them. just because she finds the home she always craved didn’t mean it’d come easy. she would have to learn to not be so overbearing, so protective. she would have to let go and let grow, allow herself to blossom as well.

wanted connections
i’m not asking for anything too crazy, but definitely someone who’s harsher on her. whether it be with good intentions or not. i need someone who will allow sorrel to face the harder realities head on, to see how she’d do with the pressure. for character development but also for the drama hehe.
a minor love interest. whether it be an unrequited crush, a mutual crush. an eventual relationship. something short term. she’s a beautiful girl in a new town. i see her going on dates constantly due to her need to give everyone a chance. something also for character development but also for drama x
a lil girl group please !! after a bad date, who is she gonna call ? who is she gonna confide in ? sleepovers in the fain-white residence anyone ? serena please read my tarot cards. sorrel will make cookies for everyone.
friends ! potential coworkers ? potential boss ? she needs a job but i’m not entirely set on something yet. i’m thinking a maid, perhaps a waitress. please. anything T^T
