Now that the comic is over, I want to talk about a few things.
1. Thank you for reading and sticking around until the end
This is simple. I am grateful for any reader who stumbled upon this fan comic and decided they wanted to read it. Without you guys, I might not would have made it to the finish line.
2. The reason I made this comic
When I saw the storybook page about Vanessa's and the Prince's misunderstanding with the Florist, my brain just immediately had to role play a little scene of Hat Kid offering Snatcher the possibility of fixing that issue with her Time Pieces. What followed was me starting to ship Snatcher and Vanessa and then that leading to me creating an AU where Vanessa wasn't """evil""" but possessed by the cut character Moonjumper, thus having a solid reason why the couple could find back together, without it being toxic and abusive and whatnot.
Unbeknownst to me, I was projecting the separation and divorce of my parents onto Vanessa and Snatcher. I used the couple to process and cope with that. However, at the time, I didn't know that consciously. It was an subconscious process that I only recently discovered, due to me finally starting to address all the problems in my brain, hueh.
But due to me projecting a painful experience onto Vanessa and Snatcher, it made
so fucking goddamn shitty.
For anyone who don't know. Vanessa is showing clear signs of possessiveness and abusiveness towards the Prince in the canon of the game. And I get it. But that doesn't mean you can say a fictional character is irredeemable even for AUs and nobody should touch them, because YOU ARE PROJECTING TOO.
It was not fun being a Vanessa fan during 2020. But I am still here. And healing. I hope anyone from back then has taken steps to heal from whatever experiences made them feel uncomfortable when seeing themes of abuse.
4. I had a 3rd arc planned as potential "DLC"
There were some questions unanswered that nobody but myself had asked about certain lore aspects. I have written an unfinished script of that, that I thought that if I have still enough motivation, I will draw.
But as of now, I would like to put this AU to rest. I am tired of drawing these characters, lol.
However, I'll give you guys the script of that third arc in a separate post :]
