it's just that like. if I were writing a story, and somebody said, "I think that character in your story is a trans woman," and I didn't want them to think that. I would probably avoid a scene where I have someone hand that character a trans flag and call them princess. And I wouldn't change what pronouns I use for them, or have them tumble out of a closet at their introduction. Oh and I wouldn't have a scene where they get really excited about the idea of being a princess instead of a prince

Loved that Cat bit back until she got what she wanted. Loved that she betrayed and hurt people she cared about for her own self-interest (and ultimately love).

Loved that Ben still gave up on his only way out of a life he didn't want to the benefit of her and the man she backstabbed him for. Loved that he didn't forgive her at the end.

truly and genuinely the spider-noir show feels like they genetically engineered the spider-man spin-off equivalent of crack cocaine in a lab for me personally. It's the 1930s. nicolas cage is 60 years old. he's a private investigator. He's a weird little freak. He's cracking bones you didn't even know existed. He watches movies to figure out how to be more normal. He is always getting knocked on his ass. it gets actually freaky and nasty with the spider bite symptoms. The suit is So Many Textures. It's the closest we've ever been to body horror. It's live action and in black and white AND the black and white looks good. this is doing the same shit to me the tom hardy venom films did

Thinking about workin boys and how Hidgens' story is not recognised as being queer and is instead criticised for being about men, but at the same time Hidgens refuses to relate to women and sees the genderswap as an insult to his story. The way a gay man's story can't be told because it's seen as patriarchal but the same gay man can't see that it's still a queer story when the characters are all women.
