Iām almost halfway through a rewatching s2 of the Flash and my main impressions seem to be:
1. Dāaww, I forgot how much I loved nice!Jay!
2. I also forgot how bummed I was when nice!Jay turned into coward!Jay who was hardly ever on anymore. (Yet was supposedly having this awesome relationship with Caitlin that we just, um, didnāt get to see much of? :S )
3. However, itās very interesting to rewatch the early eps in particular and know that this is actually ZOOM whoās hanging with them (and quite easily learning all of their plans to stop him, dāoh! ;) )
But this scene was especially interesting near the end of 2x10 where she reveals she knows heās sickā¦

Anyway, I love his expression at 1:39 when he agrees theyāll stop Zoom and then as she hugs him. Now we know that thatās the look of a supervillain realizing, āOhhhhhh crap, Iāve accidentally fallen for my own con.ā :S ;)
I wouldāve REALLY liked to have seen that explored a little more instead of basically once we got the reveal that Jay is Zoom and especially once he kidnaps her, itās like, āNope, Iām not even going to try to convince you to join me with a rational argument, Iām just going to assume youāre totes cool with helping me kill people, yes/yes???ā
I mean, you can look at it as if thatās why Jay really wasnāt around a lot, he knew he couldnāt keep the ādarknessā at bay enough to keep it from showing around the edges if he was around the gang too much. They wouldāve started getting suspicious once his ārealā self inevitably started bleeding through. But then that begs the question, how did Caitlin not see any of that? Was pretty much the entirety of their relationship what we saw on the screen? She fell in love with him off of that little time together? :S Either way doesnāt really fit well, she either barely spent a few minutes with the guy or she spent plenty of time with him but somehow managed to miss his occasional psychopathic tendencies? *pondering face*
Anyway! Just a few observations as Iām sorta getting back up to speed on s2 for vidding and writing purposes. ;) Donāt mind me, then, if Iā¦ zoom away again for now.
