I'm not quite sure how this qualifies as "heavy armor" but hey, Herah and I are giving it a try! I think we look very nice. 🤗

I also decided to try this new weapon whose name is escaping me since I did very poorly with the greatsword against my first major enemy. I, um, died twice and Cassandra had to revive me. And briefly, because I didn't understand what the game was trying to tell me to do, Cassandra also teabagged me.

Oh come on, I can't even romance her A LITTLE BIT? We clearly had a ✨moment✨ there on the battlefield! 😜

Anyway, I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong because I could only swing my sword once then was helpless for about 5 seconds so just ran around like a numpty until I could swing it again. Um, okaaaay? I either don't have something equipped right or have just completely misunderstood my abilities/weapons. I'll keep working at it because I don't want to let the love of my life my good friend Cassandra down! *fist thump* 😉💖💖💖

PS - ZOMG, it just dawned on me that I'm doing the same thing I did with Mass Effect Andromeda (which was my first ME game): I'm failing to make use of my squadmates/party members. I basically played all 600+ hours of Andromeda without ever efficiently making use of my squadmates powers. I didn't really get the hang of using their abilities like my own until playing the original ME. That's what I need to do, isn't it? *forehead smack*

Today on Aislynn plays Dragon Age: Inquisition, we're asking the tough questions:

Also, I honestly, truly am sucking at the combat but that's okay! It's new to me and I'll learn! I do like that you can pause the action and guide your friends' attacks tactically or just real-time attack and let them figure it out on their own, that's super cool! 😎👍

I got a point to upgrade Herah, yay, and put it towards her two-hand weapon skills because I want to be a ✨tank✨ on the battlefield. I'm sure I'll make a lot of mistakes on upgrading but again, that's okay! I'm new and I'm learning and I'm doing my best to not let me fear of making mistakes drive me to feel like I have to look up guides and write notes and play in a very rigid, controlled fashion, that sort of thing. I want this first playthrough to be as organic as possible, just me blundering through, playing by instinct and best-guesses and the like, having fun! 🌞💖

I also really like that Herah is the tallest one in the party at the moment. 🤗 Especially considering me in real life would be classed as a dwarf if we were going by physical stats, lol. 😂💖

I do love my Herah; I'm playing her as more Paragon at the moment (to borrow Mass Effect's terminology). We're kind, we care, and we want to save all the innocent people out there!

And we want to romance somebody (eventually). Herah and I live to love! 🥰👍😂

New (to me) game alert, lol!

I decided it was time to give Dragon Age: Inquisition a try! I keep seeing DA: Veilguard on sale and it looks interesting but I have no idea whether I'll do any good at this style of play. So, since I already have DA:I, I figured I might as well jump in since I've finished with everything I wanted to do with Devil May Cry 5 for now.

I intended to start with the first, then second DA game, btw, but the first seems to have some massive issues on Steam and is better to get the patched version from GOG. I've been watching for it to go on sale there but finally figured I might as well go with what I have. I don't mind going back and starting over properly when I can, especially if I get the hang of the gameplay. 😎👍

So, here I am:

I decided to be a Qunari warrior and went with the offered default name of Herah. I wanted her to be a bit older and seasoned, so gave her the deepest female voice and we sound very nice.🌞If it seems like I'm kinda leaning in to the whole Karlach vibe... that's because I am, lol!

My bb! 🤗 Do I want to play Baldur's Gate 3 in large part because of Karlach? YES. (Also Astarion, Gale, Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Wyll, Halsin and Minthara. I kinda love them all, what can I say? 🤷‍♀️I live to love!🥰)

Anyway, back on topic! I'm going in with very little idea of which characters I'll be meeting, so I don't have any preconceived idea of who to romance.

Ummm, so can I romance Cassandra? Asking for a friend... *whistles innocently* 😇😜

Just looked it up and nope, looks like Cassandra is a romance option only for the menfolk.

Well, hopefully me and Cassandra can be besties! 🤞😣🤞

Here's my cute little mohawk and green eyes, both of which Herah is borrowing from yours truly, lol. (Truth in advertising, my fauxhawk has currently grown out to more of a fluffy, silvery pixie but I plan on getting it cut again soon. 😜)
