– she left. she left and hoped that they would hate her for it. and she wouldn’t blame them if they did, somewhere deep down. ( but they don’t, her mind tends to echo back in sun’s voice these days. ) guilt. it’s the source of all the distance, it’s what holds her back– tightly– like silken webs spun around her chest. bile builds in the back of her throat at the very thought of opening up most of the time. still; she recognizes those as excuses. and though she’s walking forward with her team on awkward feet, she intends to try. she owes them that much… that and so much more.
the sun is beginning to set when she’s drawn out of reclusion by the smell of delicious tuna. the sight of it is enticing– yet her fingers pause just before she can divulge. blake’s ears twitch, gold eyes darting from the tuna to a smug, approaching teammate. she should have suspected that this was a trap– all of this food out for the taking. though in retrospect, maybe some part of her already knew.
❛ –weiss. ❜ lips purse. casually, she draws her hand behind her back. then ( as much as it pains her to deny her instincts ) she inches away from the tuna. weiss looks awfully proud for luring her out. ❛ um… did you want to talk? ❜
despite team rwby’s tearful reunion, there was a certain member who seemed still missing. Blake had kept to herself upon her return, lost during the hours of light, appearing only at meals. Weiss understood why she would avoid them -- a lot had happened. But she didn’t care about that. Everyone was here now, that’s what they should focus upon. Thus, she devised her clever little plan... she would bait her friend out of her isolation.
the fish was set neatly on the coffee table, a window cracked open to allow for some extra air flow, and Weiss darted out of sight. She waited... and waited... and then footsteps. Aha -- ! Her prey had arrived... As the familiar figure reached for the food in front of her, she approached from behind, clearing her throat for attention.
❛ hehe... i knew the tuna would work. ❜
...she’s surprised that it worked. Pleased, yes, but surprised. The concept seemed a little, well... cartoonish, but it did apparently show results. A triumphant smirk flashed across her lips for a swift moment, though she grew serious as Blake inquired about her intentions.
❛ yes. blake, listen... i won’t ask you why you ran. but we aren’t just your teammates -- we’re your friends. you can tell us what’s troubling you. ❜
