Summary:

Choi Han's mouth opened and then closed a couple of times before finally settling on a question.

"Do you not want me by your side?" He asked in an almost painful manner.

He looked quite pitiful like this, similar to a sad pup.

Alberu almost sighed at such useless thoughts.

Instead, he reached for the side of Choi Han's face, cradling his cheek in his gloved hand.

Alberu sighed, without any grace or form of patience a King was to have. He couldn’t help it. Not when the familiar voice lacked its usual teasing whenever it was spewing bullshit like this. 

“Why, thank you, Young Master Silver Shield.” He gave his Dongsaeng a bright smile through the reflection of the mirror. He caught on the subtle twitch of Cale's eyes. Heh. “Is there something up ?”

“Such a grim assumption, Your Highness. Can't I just come to witness my Hyung-nim’s last moments as the Crown Prince ?”  . . . Or, Alberu is getting crowned today. And the two most important people of his life pay him a visit before the start of the ceremony.

But this morning, when Choi Han woke up, he was laying in a bed that wasn’t his. In a room that wasn’t the one he had at the villa. He could feel unknown people roaming around the place, and his acute hearing helped him to spot people talking in the hallways. 

And while this situation should have made all his senses in high alert, it did not. Choi Han wasn’t shaken nor about to grab his scabbard on the nightstand. He simply remained still on the mattress.

He didn’t want to risk waking up the sleepy figure in his arms.  . . . Or, ChoiBeru morning cuddles.
